Although it wasn’t Arsenal’s best performance of the season, there’s no doubt that the Gunners deserved to take all three points against Swansea on Saturday.
Goals from Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez came either side of two own goals forced by Alex Iwobi – who is going to fight for at least the first one, and the home side were well beaten, 4-0 in the end.
Speaking afterwards, Aaron Ramsey touched on the performance, saying, “We’ve started the last few games by going a few goals down so it was ever so important that we took the lead.
“We did that ever so well, scored a few goals in the end and came away with a convincing win.
“One of our main targets today was to avoid conceding or going behind in the game. I thought we defended very well, ever so well in fact. We nullified them to a few half-chances.
“We overcame that, played some good football and came away with a win in the end that was ever so well deserved.”
With a 1-0 lead lead the break, the Welsh midfielder revealed what was said at half-time.
“It was just a case of being ever so patient and waiting to break them down ever so well.
“That’s what we did in the second half, ever so well, and we’re just ever so delighted to come away with the ever so well deserved three points”
It’s good that Ramsey is ‘ever’ so pleased 🙂
I am ever so shocked and a little bit scared of how much power your words have Mr Blogs.
Ever so well put Rambo… COYG
Rambo ever so quick to big up team performance.
I am ever so glad that we won!
I am ever so glad Aaron continues to take 5 touches of the ball when 2 will do!
but he sometimes takes 1 when 5 would do. yet i don’t care. i love rambo ever so much.
hahaha well said midwest.
Their is ever so much truth to that
This was an ever so well written article.
Might not be popular with everyone, but I’m ever so glad Xhaka-Ramsey’s being given a run. Definitely our most exciting midfield pairing without Santi fit. Let’s just see how they do defensively in the next couple of weeks and decide whether to go with them for the big one at Stamford Bridge.
We’re due an unexpected win to turnaround our title hopes aren’t we? i can’t remember the last time we went to OT or the Bridge or somewhere similar and won after a patch of shite form. Suppose away at city a couple of seasons ago but even at their peak City have never had the air of invincibility like United or Chelsea often do for me. An Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs three way title race would be arguably the most exciting ever from our perspective. And unbearable.
It’s a pairing I’d especially like against two banks of four but it looks like more and more teams are looking to put real pressure on us in midfield for as long as they can instead of sitting back. Without someone like Cazorla it might be better to rethink our shape entirely, especially in big games
Totally agreed loose_cannon. Even against Swansea, while they were pressing our back four, we struggled to play out from the back. Without Santi it may pay to play 3 midfielders in a 4-3-3 instead of 4-2-3-1. That would give us more options playing out from the back and let us build up play a lot easier. Obviously that would mean a change of position for Ozil so it may not be palatable for Wenger, but I think we would do well with a change of that sort.
I thought Ramsey had a horrendous first half where almost nothing went right for him. Fortunately, things improved in the second half. Hope he gets his mojo back with a run of games.
Ever so cracked up reading comments
Ever so chuffed we took the three points. #COYG
Ever so well said by an ever so handsome man.
Imagine having a boss who speaks like that.
I’m still a bit concerned that we can’t start on the front foot straight away. We were being bossed around by fucking Swansea for an uncomfortable amount of time. I guess in the end it comes down to the three points and they were secured.
I was actually delighted that Ramsey was positionally so disciplined – he has a tendency to bomb forward without any thought to how isolated he leaves his defensive partner. I’ve been critical of Ramsey but I definitely want him to do well (unlike some, it would seem). Here’s hoping!
City got thrashed 🙂
Ever so well

I reckon Blogs is talking ever so much crap in this particular article
I’m ever so mad that people jumped on the ‘ever so glad’ jokes because it would make Ramsey ever so sad.
Well we’re among the pidgeons in the chasing pack. Chelsea are still a good 8 points away and we will HAVE TO beat them to cut the deficit. Spurs and Liverpool are just ahead of us so we have to keep winning and hope they start to fall off. Meanwhile City have bottled it. Pep Guardiola. 47m for Stones. Bravo. Enough said. We look in front of us and start to hunt down the two pretenders just ahead. There’s still time to catch up to Chelsea (should they melt down). But we must concentrate on our own performance deficiencies. I… Read more »

You can guess what that means..
Dude. You need your own blog.
I love him, but i could barely read the article, ever so distracted by the lack of vocabulary…
We are not convincing at all against one of the worst teams this season. All 4 goals came off some rebound, nothing clean. Looking at Spurs and Chelsea’s wins, they look really solid, their opponents never seem to get many chances; on the other hand we often look shaky even against these championship teams. Last season was the one for us after so many years…
