The Premier League have confirmed that Arsenal’s match with Manchester United has been selected for live broadcast in the UK by Sky Sports.
As a consequence kick-off has been moved back 25 hours. The match will now be played at the Emirates at 4pm on Sunday 7 May (originally 3pm, 6 May).
Seven of Arsenal’s next eight games will be broadcast by either Sky Sports or BT Sport – only Wednesday’s game against West Ham isn’t being shown live in the UK.
We’re not sure if the Arseblog News TV will survive the next five weeks if the results don’t start getting better soon.
Where on earth are they going to shoehorn the Southampton and Sunderland fixtures?! They better broadcast those as well!
One of them (probably the Sunderland game) will be between the Stoke match (13/14 May) and the Everton game (21 May).
For the other, they might be trying to get permission to get it on the same day as a CL game (usually banned, but was allowed for City v Stoke a few weeks back). Otherwise, we’d have to play Monday-Friday-Monday pretty soon, or Saturday-Tuesday-Thursday-Sunday in the last 9 days of the season… which would suck, unless you have Sanchez in your FPL team and a triple-captain chip saved up.
Is that a younger (and taller?) Alexis with his back to us in the article’s picture (shurely not!)
not.
Cannot remember the last Utd match which was played 3pm on a Saturday. That’s not a surprise.
Try November 1995! 1-0 Bergkamp. Yes I’m an anorak!
i remember that.
Unfortunately I’m being selfish, but I’m really upset because I bought 2 Hospitality tickets for that game and am flying from New York to London for the game because May 6 is my birthday and I was really hoping to watch us beat Maureen and Manure on my birthday as a special present. Guess I’ll just have to see the Sunday game as my birthday instead. Really disappointed with the date change.
Sorry but those type of games aren’t going to be played at 3PM on a Saturday.
The good thing is my wife and I really love London and will be able to take in a couple of Broadway shows while we’re there for the week. I will be really pissed if we don’t at least beat Maureen. Thankfully changing the game date doesn’t interfere with our show dates. Would have had to cancel the show. Will never cancel seeing Arsenal.
West End shows. You’ll miss curtain-up if you head to Broadway. Happy Birthday in advance. Your present will be 25 hours late, but definitely worth the wait.
Is it just me or do they seem to stockpile our TV games when we’re off form and potential season collapse seems imminent? It’s almost as if pundits revel in our misery. Maybe it is just me though.
FFS. Sunday arvo London time doesnt sit well with me. Hahah. 4pm local time is like 1am Monday morning my time. Guess I be showing up for work a wee bit late those mondays.
As a result, the Arsenal better reward my faith with some nice football.
What is the difference, other than that there will be less time to sulk after another humiliating loss before heading back to work?
This is one of the best photos of my life. HILARIOUS. Thanks guys.
do you think the stoke match will be moved also?
