Arsene Wenger has provided the latest team news update ahead of Sunday’s North London derby against Sp*rs
The Gunners come into this game on the back of a 1-0 win over Leicester City in midweek, and with a doubt over captain Laurent Koscielny.
The French international hurt his knee late in the game against Leicester, and it’s unclear yet whether he’ll be able to play at White Hart Lane.
“The uncertainly we have is about Laurent Koscielny,” he said. “The news we had yesterday was quite positive, so I hope he will be available.”
Asked what his chances were, the boss said, “60/40 – 60 that he plays.”
Shkodran Mustafi remains sidelined, with Wenger saying he expects the German to be back in ‘two weeks’.
Beyond that there don’t appear to be any new issues, which is good.
Don’t know if our 3CB would work without an experienced central CB. Maybe Wenger might play a back four Bell Gab Hold Monr. Or maybe stick with the back three? Tough call this
holding central as ball-playing D, gabriel and monreal with him to sweep..
Are we forgetting Mertesacker?
(Of course it’s completely insane to assume his first appearance of the season would be in the NLD)
Sadly I don’t think we’re going to see him hit the pitch.

The defender playing centrally is the most important defender. He should be very experienced, able to play the ball and should be able to hold the defence together…..basically he is the best amount the three. Holding is very good , but I think he is a bit young for the role. Koscielny and mustafi were the best suited to the role. That’s not to say holding he can’t do it but it’s a risk.
The back 4 with Kos in it struggled towards the end of the Leicester game when we switched it up. We have to keep the back 3. We look a far more stable outfit with it.
Holding, Mert, Gabriel and Monreal can all play in there.
Mert for his first game back in NLD with Kane Dele and the rest of those cunts running past him…? C’mon be serious man
Last season, with all that “running past him,” we had the most clean sheets in the league and if I recall, we did not lose to the shite spuds.
Would surely have to be Monreal, Gabriel and Holding with Gibbs and Ox or Bellerin as wingbacks.
Another battling performance needed. It ain’t gonna be pretty. I want us to win this one so badly. there’s so much at stake for both teams it’s turned into a massive game, we have a chance to really fuck them up and gain a huge 3pts. COYG

Is the BFG back? in a back 3 his lack of speed isn’t exposed that much. He can go for goalkicks against Kane while Gab and Holding cover him. His long legs could be useful against through passes because there will be so liitle space with the back 3.
What an amazing opportunity. Imagine Chelsea slipping up, and ten years from now Sp*rs fans telling their kids of how they had almost won the Premier League had Ozil not set up Sanchez for a last gasp winner…
If Mert is fit I would play Holding,Mert and Gabriel in the back three with Monreal and Bellerin wing backs and the OX in centre Mid along Xhaka.
If Mert isn’t fit we will have to stick with Holding,Gabriel and Monreal back three.
Massive game can’t wait but we need the three points espically after a draw in the Manchester derby.

I keep reading quotes in news media/online from Pires. It says he his Arsenals coach? Yet if you go onton the useless Arsenal.com, no mention of him. Just the old hangers on who’ve been there since whenever, pinching aliving. Anyone know of his status, has he got his required badges etc. Maybe if old miser stays on he will get an official role, unless he does the unthinkable & calls us out etc as per ‘thierry’
