Bolton Wanderers have confirmed their interesting in Arsenal youngster Stephy Mavididi.
The 19 year old is a reliable goalscorer at youth level, and last season had a brief spell on loan with Charlton Athletic. Unfortunately, he suffered a very serious hamstring injury in just his fifth game for the Addicks, with boss Karl Robinson admitting it was his fault.
“It’s my fault he got injured,” he said. “I’m sick as well, because I know working with young players that once you have an increase in loading period then two-and-a-half games is probably the maximum amount of loading you can do when you’ve not played first-team football before.
“Because he has been so good we have become reliant on him and I’ve got carried away with how well he’s been doing, rather than how much I need to protect him.”
Bolton manager Phil Parkinson signalled his interest in the Arsenal man the local press, saying, ” “Stephy is another one we have looked at – and spoke about getting him last year.”
It remains unclear whether he’s targetting a loan or permanent move, but given the club has just been issued with a winding-up notice because of their finances, chances are it’s the former.
And of course such a petition would put the move itself in some doubt.
Let’s do a Morata to Juventus type sale with the option of buying him back whenever we want at a fixed low price. About time we got a bit more cuntish in our dealings.
I don’t see why we’d do anything but a loan deal here
If it’s anything other than a loan, I’ll be seriously depressed. Still getting over Crowley leaving… Been waxing lyrical about these youngsters for years. Don’t make me look silly guys.
Crawley?
Mate, I gave up after Wellington Silva and now Chesney.
After seeing Chez cry at his press conference at the mention of arsenal, don’t think I can allow myself to invest in any youth player anymore.
I know, it ain’t easy mate. I’m still getting to grips with the fact Zelalem may not be the new Fabregas… Probably rational to save the hero worship until they play regular first team football but god damn, I’m a sucker for a ScoutNation YouTube clip.
It is the life of being a fan.
Thing is when it works out, it feels great (ala Chez) in that it almost rivals winning the league.
Is he fully fit now?
He’ll be fine player if that injury hasn’t destroyed his lightening pace.
He should go to a Championship club with Prem aspirations on loan

Interesting.
Lemar deal could be back on as Monaco rejected offer for Mendy. Hope we act quick.
I’m still hopeful of Goretzka and Lemar
