Chuba Akpom linked with Celtic loan move

According to reports Celtic are interested in taking Chuba Akpom on loan for the 2017-18 season.

The 21 year old striker is a long way down the pecking order at Arsenal, and is unlikely to feature much, if at all, during the current campaign.

Akpom has had a number of loan moves in the past couple of seasons, spending time at Wolves, and last year he was part of the Brighton squad that achieved promotion to the Premier League.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is keen on Chuba Akpom

However, he didn’t play very much and failed to score during his time at the south-coast club.

Nevertheless, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers (right) is set to scrap it out with Leeds United who are also looking at the Arsenal man to boost their firepower.

With Carl Jenkinson and Cohen Bramall set to join Birmingham on loan, it looks like this week could see some serious trimming of the squad.

Good on him, I reckon this just might be Celtic’s year in the league.

Clive St Helmet

I’d be shocked if he manages to displace Dembele. Saying that, Dembele might be on his way elsewhere.

Anonymarse

They might go 2 seasons unbeaten

Paul

Worth following Deluded Brendan on Twitter. V funny account.

Don

Given his succession of underwhelming loans I can only reason that his reason for still being an Arsenal player is that he remains a quite useful and high potential player on FIFA.

Get out while you can, Joel!

Chuba ? That’s a good bait to splash some loan fee on if you are Brendan.

As for Chuba why go there to deputise for Dembele and co?
You’d imagine him leading the line for Dundee and that would help him a million times more than warming the bench.

I remember Anthony Stokes (remember that deadly trio with him Lupoli and TGSTEL?) killing it at Kilmarnock and he eventually ended up at Celtic as a starter.

Tapps

Killed it at Falkirk.

Crash Fistfight

How weird – a step down in level, yet he might get to play in the Champions League if he goes.

Crash Fistfight

Hopefully he can play some beautiful human being football whilst there.

John

Unfortunately I know a few Brighton fans who were very unimpressed with him last year. Lack of effort apparently.
Disappointing as he looked pretty talented for a while.

Vonnie

Not the first loan that he’s been called arrogant and lazy.

Rich

Thought Celtic were well stocked with strikers?
Wherever he goes?
Hope he gets the regular football he needs.
Remember when we last renewed his contract, Liverpool were reportedly trying to tax him and everyone was going ape.

Kwame Ampadu Down

Did you, why ? They have two, one of whom is injured. Before one of their CL ties, the whole build up was about which midfielder they would play as a makeshift striker.

Akpom should go for this. Despite the silly talk, Rodgers is clearly a very good coach.

David Hillier\'s luggage

Chuba was at Hull, not Wolves.

EZD

That’s quite a flattering photo of Rogers

not so fed up

Get on with the cull and bring in two more players to make us competitive, actually make that three players!!!
