Liverpool 4-0 Arsenal – player ratings

Alex, who developed our ratings systems, asked if I’d like to swap the player ratings for poo ratings for this game.

It was very tempting. Nevertheless, here are the ratings from today’s dismal 4-0 hammering by Liverpool.

Three games in and I feel as sad as I did last spring. How on earth can we make so many bad decisions and none-decisions?

TDog

How can Ox & Alexis & Ozil even be played, does Wenger speak to his players? Is he just completely deluded and ignorant to the fact that these players aren’t playing for him anymore? Why does he think they won’t sign contracts? Because they want to stay but just don’t want to ruin the surprise by telling him now? It’s not about money, it’s not about wanting to win the premier league (impossible under Wenger) it’s about getting away from this car crash without disrespecting a once great manager and legend. Sad, sad times

Dawn

Maybe he had to play them to prove to the idiots that he HAS to sell them.

A different George

I am sure this will be unpopular, but I saw nothing like this from Ozil until at least the third goal, maybe later. Until then, he looked like a player who desperately wanted to win. Not saying he was great, but that his attitude and effort do not deserve the criticism people are making. In any case, out worst player, by a very long way, was Holding–whose desire is unquestionable. He was not helped by Chamberlain playing on the wrong side but the correct solution was on the bench, at least for now: Mustafi should have played instead of Holding.… Read more »

ondrej

A player who desperately wanted to win would put in defensive shift, track back, tackles, instead of being invisible. When Ramsey/Ox/Xhaka doesn’t feel like defending people would bash them, but when it’s Ozil who attempted zero tackle and run away from every 50-50 every game, they gave him a free pass. Literally every opposing team plays like Ozil is not even there every single game. At this point all these Ozil worshipping is getting tiring and old. There is a reason why pundits bash him the most, rather than other players, and there is a reason why they are pundits,… Read more »

Cechmate

So according to you, Ozil is the biggest defensive worry??!! Believe me, he is the least of our worries, lack of a proper DM & poor CB’s are responsible for defensive issues. We lack a Kante, Matic kind of player who breaks down attacks and gives a couple of seconds more for CB’s to get back & in shape. Ozil creates enough space and opportunities up front, which is his primary job. Criticising Ozil for not putting in tackles would be akin to criticising Kos for not assisting enough and being lazy because he doesn’t run enough. Ozil was playing… Read more »

Thaigoon

We lack an organized defensive plan. I dont believe Stoke or Liverpool have superstar DMs or CBs.

Samuel Peeps

A lot of pundits are idiots.

Miguel

Ozil is effectively playing as a striker in this formation, something you and the lazy pundits seem to to miss, choxlade maberline is supposed to be playing as wing back with defensive responsibilities.

Bob\'s Mexican Cousin

Didn’t realize Ozil was our DM

Rectum_Spectrum

I understand your points but chamberlain was our worst player. He put in one of the worst performances I’ve ever seen in an arsenal shirt. He didnt give a fuck. Little wanker.

Loose_Cannon

Chamberlain wasn’t worse than Xhaka or Ramsey or Bellerin (though in fairness to Hector, he’s not a LWB ffs…). Sorry but the contract situation is clouding people’s judgement here

lee dicks on

Forget this and not starting Lacazette, the fact that Kolasinac didn’t even get off the bench is astonishing. How does the one player with the kind of no-nonsense fight this game was crying out for not even get a look-in. What message does that send? Literally handicapping yourself before the first whistle, it’s fucking appalling management. There is ZERO accountability in this club and I am sick to death of it.

ondrej

Maybe because he doesn’t want to kiss Arsene’s arse, just like Perez, Joel Campbell, etc.

clins

We need a rating for manager for fuks sake . Appealing team selection , lack of motivation, mediocre transfer window , no tactics whatsoever. How the fuk can we give anything above 2

lessthanthesumoftheirparts

He got one. 0/10

Des

Should have been -10 he needs to fuck off

Ay Jay

ive been saying this since 2005 wenger is a poor manager and we give him credit for nothing

yen

No point in going into player ratings too much tonight, as everything about this game was simply abysmal.

I’m actually thinking whether we – the fans – shouldn’t do more to make our opinions be heard.

Do we really need to go through another 2 seasons of this?

Samuel Peeps

I think maybe we need to, otherwise nothing will change, at least not for another 2 years. And I don’t think I can take another 2 years of this shite. The club is being SO badly run, the team is getting worse and worse, we’ve become a joke.

What can we do though? Stop turning up to games? Boo the players? Chant ‘Wenger Out’ all game? None of these ideas are very appealing, I don’t hate the guy. But he’s got to go.

Arsensarmy

How can they be so tactically blind. This is a group of players, not a team. They look like their out playing in a Sunday kick around. Utterly embarrassing and as much as it pains me to say it, hopeless. No fighting spirit or pride in the shirt, every player in the starting 11 should donate their weeks wages to a charity.

McTaggart

Bar Petr Chech

ChrisGoona

It was unacceptable mate. I can’t understand the lack of effort and the naivety of repeating the same errors. Lose to good play I can understand, but to lose to the expected tactics, to a Liverpool team who have battered us before, to team who are poor defensively and not to trouble them…. It was a disaster.

Des

We are going to have to……. Wenger won’t resign his a stubborn fool, the board don’t have the balls to either………so that leaves us fans to do something. Attack the board get there attention is the only way.

ChrisGoona

There are proper ways of doing things. It is counter productive to jeer and boo when our job is to support. We need the Arsenal supporter groups to actually do something meaningful. There are problems behind the scenes which are now often reflecting on the pitch. This means that those who are accountable for Wenger’s position must be quizzed. Something is wrong at Arsenal and Wenger will not willingly sh** on his own doorstep. He almost did when things got real bad last season. Anyone remember that particular post match presser? It was like he was about to reveal all… Read more »

Cagooner

No point going through the player ratings because the position we find ourselves in has almost nothing to do with he players. Wenger is past it. Well past it. Each season just makes him more and more a laughing stock. I said it at end of last season and it’s more true than ever today – almost any other manager in Premier League would get so much more out of these players. We have a great squad. We have no tactics, no motivation, no leadership and no spirit. All down to Wenger. I’ll get thumbs down for this, but I… Read more »

ondrej

This is exactly why Abramovich is better than Kroenke.
If Chelsea keep performing like this, the manager would’ve got sacked. Kroenke doesn’t care, as long as we keep buying season tickets he’s happy.

It Is What It Is

Lol, who says Stan is selling in two years? IF the higher ups don’t say ish, then they aren’t accepting of this to an extent. When you’re being spoon fed feaces, you projectile regurgitate when there is no more room. Arsenal fans, still have room for more, by and large….rabble, rabble, rabble. Even if we had applicants, Stan would pick the one that fits into his agenda, the most. I would be playing the beast, in every possible match, Chambo can do one (Effin ninja turtle – amidst reports, our best players must be wondering why hes been offered that… Read more »

SFGiants

We can demonstrate and picket, yell and shout, write letters and bitch all we want, and it won’t do any good. Silent Stan sits in his castle in Columbia MO counting his money and can’t hear us and wouldn’t do shit if he did hear us. And you know the board probably considers us canaille and most certainly won’t give us ear. All we can do is wait the bastards out.

Des

Planned walk outs to start with………and attacking the board bcos their the assholes that aren’t listening.

Dan Hunter

The only way to make ourselves heard is by boycotting matches. When they have a few empty stadiums in a row, it will hit them in the pocket, which is what they care about

Donald\'s Trump

Sooooo when Ozil said he wants Wenger’s future sorted before he signs, he meant I’m not signing until he quits?

Rocky\'s little brother

Don’t buy the new shirts. Puma will kick off and that is bigger money than not going to the games

George

Speaking of which, I thought the blue shirt today looked awful.

lol

It’s all good in theory but we all know it will never happen. Two more years at least.

It Is What It Is

Exactly what should be happening, but demand outweighs supply….don’t know after this game though.

Ppl will think, I’ve paid 1k+, not missing a match. But that’s the sacrifice….nothing , additional, comes for free.

Sunderland fans also purchase season tickets, decent performances are a bonus.

Ifs and ifs….our collective threshold hasn’t been reached.

Petit\'s Handbag

Don’t say we, we haven’t any say in all of this. The people who do have a say couldn’t give a one solitary fuck about us.

Alexisshorts

Why play Welbeck up front when you have Lacazette? Insane!

sdafadsf

Because we are still having Mr. Wenger as our manager….

Des

Get rid of they who want out. Fuck them.

George

Exactly. Sign or feck off.

And I’m not giving Welbeck anything extra for ‘trying’. He’s not good enough and never will be. Clumsy oaf. We can’t afford to have him squander chance after chance.

Donald\'s Trump

Poor man’s Heskey

Godfrey Twatsloch

Especially fuck Sanchez for smiling at the disaster. What a cunts move!

Des

His smiling bcos he can’t wait to leave this shit fest and play for team that can actually win something. He knows this club isn’t going anywhere.

Godfrey Twatsloch

I understand that but the demeanour doesn’t sit well with me. Take someone like Per for example. I doubt he’d ever do something like that. Or anyone else in the team for that matter. It’s just unsavoury.

Loose_Cannon

Sorry that’s not a solution as tempting as it is, cause we’ll just end up replacing them with people who’ll want to leave in a couple years time. It’s way deeper than that

Thaigoon

turns out all our want aways are our most ambitious top talents, while all the people at fault from board manager to dead wood players are here to stay.after all where else can be so comfortable?

Sean

Utter shit.

Dotman

Last season wenger questioned chelsea’s initiative after winning the league. Today we really saw initiative. Wenger deserves all the abuse and insult he’ll be getting this season. The arrogant buffoon

eternalflamini

I disagree. This is on Kroenke. Expecting a Wenger to step down from a job he loves and is unbelievably well paid for is unrealistic.
He should have been fired just as any of us would be if we do not perform to expectations despite getting numerous chances.
Don’t know why Kroenke doesn’t get more blame.

SimSimma

I agree that Kroenke is a problem, but to be fair, Wenger was underperforming even before Kroenke came on board.

Dawn

Let’s hope some of the club’s touted to be interested in Sanchez and Ox make offers for them. Although Ox played some of his best football before today. He clearly wasn’t trying to impress Liverpool.

Mpls

Or he was helping give them the win. Did a right good job of that. Didn’t try one fucking bit. In an ideal world we don’t sell him, we just take him out of the squad and let him rot the rest of the season while replacing him with someone who gives a fuck.

Rocky\'s little brother

Silent Stan doesn’t pick the team or say who to sign. He also doesn’t set the team tactics. He has however given funds to break our transfer record again. Stan is a dick but this is all on Wenger

Elcamino

True…he keeps trying the same things that arent working and expecting different results.

Nothibg about this team is working and it compounded by baffling team selection. It might be time to face that bellerin is overrated as well

Deeman

Tony fucking pulis could put out this team to atleast ‘challenge’ liverpool today..

Cagooner

Arrogant buffoon. So sad, but right on.

Rambo sambo

Painful to see how far we’ve fallen. So painful.

George

I’ve been optimistic since ‘the move’, so it pains me to say that the falling is just beginning. I honestly don’t think we’re a chance of the top-4. None. And as cliche as it is, Wenger’s lost the dressing room. This formation bollocks isn’t helping.

Tomek

Anyone else keep thinking of that 8-2 against United at the mo? For most of us, it wasn’t enough (or nearly enough) to crush our faith in Wenger. But in retrospect…. how many other top managers have shipped 8 goals like that? And course it proved an absolute augery of things to come: crushing significant defeat after crushing significant defeat. And yet… the paradox of this period has been… 3 FA Cups… however many top four finishes… protracted (albeit impotent) winning streaks and regular (albeit abrupt) flashes of hope. It’s tempting to think we won’t see another of those upswings… Read more »

Deanodoes

I never want to see Ox play in an Arsenal shirt again. The team selection by Wenger was nothing short of abysmal. Play Klosanic at left back andBellerin right back. It’s such an easy decision

David C

don’t get it either. Similar to when Walcott contract was up a few years ago and we were forcing him into games…utterly dumb.

Ox will weaken a direct rival, take the money and run!

Vonnie

Ox probably took 10mil off his price with that fuck up of a display. Wenger needs to be sacked.

Dawn

What a surprise, he was better than sanchez!

George

Agreed. Why the f**k are we shunting Bellerin out to LB? We should have just sold him to Bartha if we were going to muck him about like this. As for whatever the hell Wenger thinks he’s doing with the CBs, I’m speechless.

Cagooner

I agree with the latter part, but don’t take it out on Ox. He’s been a trier his whole time at Arsenal and has played well last 6 months. He’s smart – he wants away from this shit. All on Wenger.

Loose_Cannon

The focus is on Ox cause of the contract but I just saw Ramsey make Wijnaldum look like Ronaldinho and a back 3 make Firmino look like Drogba. The Salah goal shouldn’t be happening in professional football at the 60 minute mark, full stop. The players that want to stay are as much of a problem as the ones that want to go

Big sheezy

This divorce is gunna get ugly.

my name is bob

From what I saw (which was only the first thirty minutes before I had to attend a sunday family thing) Chamberlain was the worst player on the field. He literally did nothing except for exist: he would consistantly let Mane run through, wouldn’t track back, and occasionally just stand in the box like he didn’t care.
I used to like him, but I think it’s time he moved on and did this type of shit at another club.

Cagooner

Dude – you put family before Gooners. Save your comments for when you put Gooners first.

btw

I’m pretty sure this was a joke…

Des

Ozil was the worst player by a country mile. He did fuck all

Igor Fonseca

Fuck

Woodnthrt

Really tired of supporting this club. When you dont play your best players on their actual positions against sting teams you lose horribly. Simple

lordMartynz

There is a reason why there is no movement around Ozil in this entire transfer market… This will be a long rough season for Arsenal Sadly.. I don’t know how I will deal with it.

Arsensarmy

I’ll be downing a lot of pints on Saturday and Sunday mornings to get thru what is going to be a shit show of a season. Buckle up its going to get worse before it gets better.

eddymc2

I’m used to this ennui by late February, not late August. This is unbelievably bad. He had so many opportunities to walk, both this year and in 2014, or the board should have pushed him (especially this year).

A real shame. He’s completely erased all the goodwill from his past achievements for us now, at least with me.

TDog

How can Ox & Alexis & Ozil even be played, does Wenger speak to his players? Is he just completely deluded and ignorant to the fact that these players aren’t playing for him any more? Why does he think they won’t sign contracts? Because they want to stay but just don’t want to ruin the surprise by telling him how? It’s not about money, it’s not about wanting to win the premier league (impossible under Wenger) it’s about getting away from this car crash without disrespecting a once great manager and legend. Sad, sad times

yas667

I was having such a nice summer. Think there is a better chance of premier league changing the fixtures start date for arsenal fans to have a decent time than wenger leaving

Xhaka Demus, no pliers

Yep. Wenger should have bowed out on a kind of high in May. Thierry said stagnation and he was right. Souness’s half time assessment of our central midfield (or lack thereof) should be played on a loop to them until the message sinks in. Demoralising and pathetic display

Sean

The rot set in a long time ago but it is now plumbing new depths. Clearly wenger has lost the dressing room. Playing players out of position and keeping better players on the bench. What is he doing? That being said, there’s no excuse for not trying. Ox can take his tantrums elsewhere – 35m for let’s face it someone who flatters to deceive is good business. I lost it with alexis when he seemed to enjoy us getting dicked by Bayern. More of the same today. If you don’t try when you wear the cannon, or don’t want to… Read more »

I was laughing too… It’s the laugh of a man that has come to terms with his fate. A laugh of acceptance, a laugh of being powerless to change anything. A laugh of having seen it all before. A laugh because if you don’t laugh, you’re liable to murder someone with your bare hands.

Well that’s just me anyway.

Cheetoh slick

I’ve seen many bad defeats the last 4 years, but this one was easier because I don’t really care anymore.

ArPar

We’re so fucked. Somehow I wouldn’t be surprised we finish 6th and still win Europa though (trying to remain optimistic in cup tourneys for whatever the hell it’s worth at this point).

Starting to feel like the opening day against Leicester was a warning of things to come.

Apart from all the good things in the game. At least we’ve scored 4!im that game. Zero since.

Bonus rating: 0/10 – Arsene Wenger’s decision to stay on when he could have left in May on a glorious high after winning a trophy. It’s sad that after just three games the mood has turned, but ultimately it’s on him.

This ^^^^is so – sadly – true !

Quite glad I sacked it off at half time and went for a bike ride instead.

lee dicks on

This server’s almost as bad as the team today

Anonymarse

We sent it on a major downer

David C

something tells me we won’t be getting a goodly morning tomorrow…

🙁

Graeb

This lot get how much a week? And they still want more?

BromleyGooner

That was painful to watch. I agree with gunnerblog no signing or change of formation or starts can fix this team. The protests need to grow to get Wenger out, its the only hope.

Carr73

Absolutely gutted. I honestly felt it could be a good One, not take the Europa too seriously in the early stages, go for the league and all that. Three games in and it seems to have gone pear shaped already. Fucking shite.

Zelig

After all the promises there has been zero changes.

Wenger saying his players are quality after a performance like that sums Wenger up. The players need a boss not a father figure.

There are lots of players who would run through walls to play for our club but these players are so comfortable now they won’t even run.

These lazy, unmotivated players who have no professional pride or hunger to achieve anything apart from a healthy bank balance need to be sold & if Wenger can’t bring himself to do it then he needs to leave too.

Dawn

Sanchez needs to go! Who wants to play with anyone who thinks you’re shite and thinks he deserves 4 X as much money as you?

BromleyGooner

On today’s performance would he be wrong? Whoever it is referring to.

Guns&Gooners

We have had players like squillaci, eboue, bendtner, chamakh, Santos, jeffers. But I have never, and I mean NEVER seen a performance as bad as today. I feel sick. I blame the players for not turning up for the match. I blame the manager for the ridiculous starting eleven. And I blame the board for being such weak cunts. Disgrace.

Fireman Sam

Well the 8-2 was worse than this.

But I hear you – somehow this feels to plumbing new lows when we’ve spunked lots of dosh on top players to sit on the bench and play Danny Welbeck as our striker instead, a man who’s brain melts down as soon as he enters the opposition box.

Donald\'s Trump

Nah the 8-2 was a makeshift 11 due to injuries and players being sold.

This was a makeshift 11 because Wenger is a spacker

אביאל בן-תקוה

Arsène Wenger logic, “lets not address any issues from the last 10 years, and expect different results”.

What a fucking joke this club is

Rwandan Gunner

They are not playing for him anymore and he is not sensing it and quit. Just touching his chin the whole torturous 90 min. The board is behaving like zombies in the darkness. The owner; the poorest among the world’s billioniers is a careless football lunatic just standing. How long will the Arsenal fans have to suffer this humiliation?

50 Shades of Gandalf the Grey

The last time the mood was this bad around AFC (for me, at least) was 2011 when Cesc and Nasri left. Right after the abject humiliation against United at Old Trafford. This feels like that same crap all over, but worse, because now we all truly know nothing will be fixed for the next two years whilst Wenger’s mismanagement costs us our dignity.

bopgun

Absolutely right. A club functioning properly would have sacked wenger tonight, have had someone lined up already, and appointed tomorrow (Thomas Tuchel), sold chamberlain, mustafi, sanchez, Walcott and Welbeck (as well as the dead wood, including wilshere) and been bringing high quality hungry replacements into the club this week.

Lord Bendnter

1) You can’t start Welbeck as a central striker, when he’s the worst finisher 2) You CANNOT not play your most important signing, a real striker who you bought specifically for scoring! Especially against a Liverpool team who aren’t the best at defending!! 3) That DM position needs to be fixed, clearly we have no solution in the squad at the moment. When you are forced to put on Coq while already losing in the second half, it tells you all you need to know regarding the importance of that position. 4) Bellerin at LWB and Ox at RWB, I… Read more »

RachidTheGooner

Lord Bendtner, you’ve accurately summed up everything I came here to say today.

Fireman Sam

Maybe the one positive is that all those contract situations may now get resolved more quickly – any player who wasn’t sure if they should leave would now know what to do.

Rick

Never voted before but I gave them all a half star. As an American who’s only been a fan for a decade I always assume I’m missing something but it seems to me wegner has been out of ideas for some time now.
As a Green Bay Packers fan I assume this is what it was like watching Lombardi coach the Redskins.

I\'m Professor Ignorance, on this subject

As an American who’s also a Cleveland Browns fan, I can only say this felt very, uh, familiar. The only thing it was missing was the quarterback getting knocked out for the season.

Alex song\'s thong

Wenger said he wouldnt never forget or forgive the fans after some if our antics last season so why didnt he just go after the fa cup win! Would of been perfect time to leave we could al see this round the corner after the same mistakes

Rhaegarbage Garbagegarian

I dont mind losing but i do mind being a frekkin laughing stock

Fireman Sam

When I came into work the day after Chelsea humiliated us there was a big “6” taped to my screen. This time the lads won’t even bother because it’s become the norm. Another day, another Arsenal embarrassment.

I supported the prof all the way until last season when I joined the WengerAaahts and looks like I’m going to be staying in that group this season.

I was still hoping AW would be able to kick on after the FA cup win but it seems that was a vain hope.

Hoffsstuntdouble

Complete disgrace, no fight, no guts, this is going to be a long 2 years unless the board grow a pair, or Usmanov takes over.

Antgoon

What’s wenger’s rating arseblog. Sat on his arse looking stupid all game.

Alexstratz

It’s one thing to be beaten 8-2 by a very strong United because you just sold Fabregas and Nasri. It’s another to be beaten by Liverpool, who just made top 4, after you bought Lacazette and Kolasinac just to bench them. FFS I know how this site usually supports Wenger after a few wins against shit opposition, but he must go. And it won’t be nice unfortunately. That ship has sailed last May.

Donald\'s Trump

*A Liverpool team without coutinho or lallana.

St.macca

Garry Neville was spot on when he said several arsenal players want to leave but who would want them? Absolute shower of shit, Wenger should be sacked and he can take the rest of his overpaid under performing Muppets with him. Just fuck off!

A Gunner with Psychic and Healing powers

I think Arsene Wenger’s theory about players on the last year of contract has been disproved in the most embarrassing way possible.

I’m so sad that i wanna cry right now , i can’t eat food and i’m experiencing much more stress than i experienced at my university final exams (And i’m studying Engineering) .

Gali

Same old Arsenal, always losing. Sad day for all gooners. This was such a hard game to watch. If this carries on, which looks like it will whilst Arsene is in charge, we will be lucky to finish 10th.

BigArse

FFS Arsene. Mustafi BFG Kos. Buy a quality centre back for BFG’s spot. Bellerin on the right, Kola on the left. Fuck off Ox.
Buy Carvalho and partner him with Xhaka or Elneny. Sell/Sit Ozil. Ramsey in Ozil’s spot. Sanchez. Lacazette.
It’s not that hard.

I cannot believe we sat Kola and Laca today. Absolutely idiotic.

George

We’re not unravelling, we’ve unravelled.

If it were an option in football, I’d say blow it all up and start again. Play some youngsters for the season and see what we’ve got. Not the way it works unfortunately.

The players that played today should all count themselves very lucky to be at the club they are at and on the wages they are on. Hopeless.

Mark

These are probably the lowest ratings I’ve seen for some time not only here, but on any site doing ratings. There was not one player that played well today and so many that had what can be described as probably their worst game in the last few years. The fact that they had 10 shots on goal and we had a grand total of 0 truly show how one sided the match was. Wenger had pretty much his whole squad at his disposal and this is what he/they came up with?!?!?!?! I look at how so many teams that we… Read more »

Fireman Sam

That would actually be good.

If Sanchez and Ozil and everyone else buggers off we’ll be unable to compete, finish 9th and get knocked of Europa League by some unkown team – then maybe Le Prof would finally get his marching orders.

Olivje Ziru

Even without Lacazette and Kolašinac we shouldn’t have lost like this. That was our first eleven last season! The biggest mistake Wenger did was to play so open against Liverpool on Anfield AGAIN. That should be questioned. I am not defending Wenger but it is on players to show some desire and fight also. But I will defend Ozil who is criticized harshly yet again. He ran his socks off today or did I watch different game. Hope Arseblog does some statistic on Ozil again. I think he made most sprints and ran most km on pitch in our team,… Read more »

Gary

You watched a different game mate , ozil is the root of all the problems , players see him stroll around the pitch and never get substituted so they just do the same. We should have conceded earlier when the hard working ozil LOL let a Liverpool player do a one 2 and cross ,thankfully cech came to our rescue.

Olivje Ziru

Okkk, what about undisciplined and selfish Ramsey? Impossible to play with him in midfield. Or Sanchez whos work rate is worse than Ozil’s and likes to camp in offside (several times today)? And several others…

If you pay attention Ozil is not lazy and he does care! Just because he doesn’t run into players like headless chicken doesn’t mean he is lazy.

santori

Ozil made an effort. He has been trying this season. We need to keep at least one of the 3 on a year;s contract left., Alexis wants out. Ox is beginning to annoy me bc it is clearly affecting Wenger’s decision making to play him ahead of Bellerin then play Bellerin in an odd position for him ahead of Kolasinac. So if we at least risk and keep Ozil, what we need to do is to upgrade the effing midfield behind him and not have Ramsey in a role that frankly doesn’t play to his strengths. Truth is Wenger is… Read more »

A Gunner with Psychic and Healing powers

The above Xhaka picture is enough to convince anyone not to buy him.

Steve

Is it safe to say that this should be the last time we play 3 at the back this season? Why didn’t Lacazette start? Was Ozil awake in the first half? There needs to be some serious soul searching at the club after this one.

Gooner1886

The honeymoon period for the back 3 is over. This is what happens when you have wing backs that get caught out of position, Ramsay doing likewise and you leave the likes of mane and salah to run at our 3 CB’s

You can’t change to 3 back on a whim and shoe horn the players into the system hoping it will work long term.

I don’t proclaim to know more than wenger but I’ve been watching football long enough to know when I see tactical naivety and players not playing for their manager.

Time for change
