Arsenal travel to Turf Moor on Sunday to take on Burnley, and Arsene Wenger has provided the latest team news update.
Having rested so many players for the 1-0 defeat to Cologne, the Premier League XI should be sharp and ready to go, and there were no new issues from the Europa League clash.
“Everybody looks alright,” said the manager. “There are some kicks because it was quite a physical game , but overall we have no injuries.
“Everyone who played will be available to compete for the squad on Sunday. That is one of the positives of last night, we have no injuries.
“The fact we can rotate means the players are less overloaded with competition.”
Theo Walcott will miss out again due to his recent illness, but he is back in training according to the boss.
Danny Welbeck came through his 45 minutes without any reaction, leaving Wenger happy he’s got that option for Sunday.
“The last time he came back from injury, we played him at Watford and after an hour he got a bad hamstring,” he said.
“This time I didn’t want to take that gamble. I wanted to be a bit more progressive with him.
“Almost certainly, nothing would have happened but I felt it was more sensible to do it. He’s fine.
“He’s completely fine.”

Would a midfield three of Xhaka. Goretzka, Rambo? potentially be more functioning than with Ozil instead of Goretztka?
I think Ozil is an amazing talent, who’s been a joy to watch at times but certainly not at others.
And feel the balance and structure of our midfield in terms of attributes has been a huge problem for us.
Playing a midfield three would also enable us to return to a back 4.
Returning to the bach 4 would mean Monreal or Kolasinac would have to be sacrificed. I think that its something that stops AW from trying it.
Monreal would be Bach in the Bach Quartet. Kolasinac maybe turned winger anyway. Wenger has been known to force positions in favor of keeping a player. The back-four isn’t something our team is jiving with though, even Wenger has given up using the formation unless he’s chasing a goal–too fragile in this season’s climate.

And why would anyone let Goretzka go in January? He’s too young to cash in big in a winter window; Schalke are also financially healthy.

Nothing would please me more then to see us go to Burnley and put in another decent performance, because after last weeks glorious victory over Spurs, we have rubbed our collective flutes in the faces of the Arsenal hating British sports press, so they’ll all be watching with sharpened pencils ready and waiting to get their revenge. They’ll all be praying for us to slip up so they can go back to peddling their Arsenal are worse then everyone agenda.

Good news. I hope we shatter Burnley come this weekend. Looking forward to Lacazzette’s goal. Don’t be surprised if he gets a hatrick, his first for the club. Let’s remain underdog and keep up with the momentum. A top four finish with a Uefa league trophy cum FA wouldn’t be bad.

hattrick is pushing it a bit too much. Burnley play at home with like 9 men defending throughout. Difficult to break down like most PL mid table sides. So I will be happy with a win. Any extra goal, from Lacazette or anybody else, will be a bonus
Exactly. Burnley are a very good side (equal on points with us!) so don’t expect us to roll them over. It’ll be a very hard fought game, whichever way it goes.
I would be quite alright if the team played like shit and a clearance from Ben Mee bounced off the ref before trickling over the goal line to give us the win at the whistle.
But would prefer a grand stand entertaining wengerball performance from the Arsenal!
We still lack sufficient nuance. If/when we sell Alexis and Ozil (probably one in January) we will have to replace both. In addition, I still think we are one more player of high technical quality away from totally competing for the title. So say if we add a Draxler and a Lemar or Pastore or equivalent, I still think we will benefit from a Mahrez or that sort (short term) in the market regardless of the talent shining through from academy in Nelson and Nketiah. Knowing Arsenal, and knowing Sean Dyche’s Burnley, a 1-0 victory would be a great result.
We are going to need to see this game as one of the big games. Burnley have been solid this season, especially at home, and we can’t psych ourselves out thinking this is an easy win. Come on Arsenal!! Another performance like last weeks would suit me nicely!!!

I am yet to see a pundit predict a win for the gunners this weekend – none has predicted a loss either, I must say. Draws from 0 – 0 to 2 – 2 has been predicted, from Owen to Lawro. Its going to be a completely different game against Burnley. They will close ranks. This is where we need to have more finesse when approaching this sort of competition. At times, Giroud may make more sense up top in packed defenses than Lacazette. We have this mentality where we have a team A and Team B but truth is we need to use players according to their strengths that suits the opponents we face.
