Arsenal are looking to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Man United by taking three points away at Southampton.
Here are today’s official line-ups.
Southampton: Forster, van Dijk, Stephens, Yoshida, Bertrand, Hojberg, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Redmond, Austin
Subs: McCarthy, Hoedt, Davis, Lemina, Boufal, Gabbiadini, Pied
Arsenal: Cech, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Monreal, Bellerin, Xhaka, Ramsey, Kolasinac, Alexis, Ozil, Lacazette
Subs: Ospina, Maitland-Niles, Wilshere, Iwobi, Coquelin, Welbeck, Giroud
Looks like a couple of my Ex’s on the bench!? 🙂
heh, fixed now
Fix thr arses, can’t even open anything from today.
You dated Ospina too? Man, that guy gets around. And he never calls…
No defensive sub…. In game tactical flexibility beckons. And they say He’s lost it ??
The Coq as a DM and Maitland as a potential wing back option, so guess again.
You could put a traffic cone in front of the defense and call it a defensive midfielder.
Doesn’t make it a good one !
Oh…those were the exes then…..hardly my fault….carry on
Coquelin and maitland niles would make 2 defensive subs…
Or we go to a back four.
Filthy weather here on the south coast, gusting gale force winds and driving rain, tough conditions for the match. Expected to calm down by one o’clock, so expect lots of missed passes in the first half. Nice team selection, we should be winning this one COYG!
Maybe the wind might straighten up a couple of Alexis’ passes? COYG! 🙂
Combined age for our centre backs of 96 – the year Wenger was appointed manager of Arsenal.
Is Theo injured or just not making the bench? He had a decent outing last.
anybody would look good against that team, even walcott
Pretty standard looking lineup
That attack is lethal, it will be a shame if we don’t get to keep it
No surprises with the team. Expectation is on Arsenal… but can they do it on a cold, midday kick off, in Southampton.
I predict not
That will be a big fat no.
What a start !
People talk about changes in January.
The only change I want is a new manager…
You just know the whole week they would have drilled into them how to shoot better. Instead of saying that defensive concentration is absolutely key in the first few minutes. That’s what lost the last game.
Losing, wait until the skinny old man sings, please.
Nothing working over here.
Why on earth did Arsenal sell Gabriel. He is on fire in la liga
Nothing working against humpton, too.
We are being humped.
Whats the point of playing Bellerin, he doesnt take on defenders and always looking for a back pass. I rather give Debuchy a chance now. Xhaka needs to give way, he offers nothing.
Hugely overrated, apart from being quite fast I don’t really see what he offers, Debuchy is a far better technical player.
Agreed, and when did Kos get so shit?
Bellerin has been awful. Terrible decision making, bottles headers, gets caught in possesion. Poor.
I’ve been banging on about Xhaka for ages. It’s lije he’s running through treacle. We always have a man less when he plays. He’s not a Wenger type player which makes it even more surprising he picks him ALL THE TIME!!
Garbage ideas and garbage motivation will always resurface when someone has been doing the same job for 20 years.
We love you boss but please leave while we still have a chance of finishing above the scum and in the top 4.
Game is screaming out for Jack to open up their defence but fuck all from Wenger a absolute joke that he’s not on already
Why is this the only place I can “live complain” during the game? When do we get our live blog back?
Soon
So let me get this straight.
Wenger said the uncertainty about his future was a major factor in Arsenal playing poorly last season.
Now that he has signed a new contract – what will his excuse be now?
Blogs pulled the plug on thw arses, can’t blame him.
Fucking atrocious.
So disappointing.
I don’t know how the players, the board and especially the manager can sleep at night.
What a spineless bunch Arsenal are.
And to charge fans so much to follow them.
A disgrace…
I guess you were right about the blog destructing in 5, 4, 3; actually I think it was sooner than 5 minutes.
We shouldn’t have kept three players in the first XI who wanted to leave (sanchez, ozil, bellerin). Save for ozil, they’ve been toilet this season, and are probably a cancer in the dressing room.
I have been watching Bellerin the whole match, all he did was one successful cross that i note of. Other than that he has been awful to watch. He loses the ball far too easily and when the ball is coming towards him, defenders already knew he is looking for a back pass.
This season he hasnt been solid in defense in the 3-5-2 formation.
