Arsenal are into the draw for the last 16 of the Europa League after a 3-2 aggregate win over Ostersund.
The Gunners lost the second leg 2-1 but go through 4-2 on aggregate, our second favourite kind of gate.
The draw takes place at noon tomorrow, when we’ll be treated to an hour of interminable bollocks before some ex player draws the balls.

The only team I have reservations against is Atleti. However, if we play with today’s lineup again I’d be nervous to play Plzen.
Czech here. Confirm nervosity level with Pilsner. They are back in the same form they were four years ago when they knock out Neapol with 5:0 score in aggregate.
Even Plzen will be licking their chops and hoping they draw Arsenal in the next round.
I have a question, if miraculously go to the final of EL and play Atletico Madrid, and we lose as we know Atletico will finish second and will be qualified for the CL, does that mean as runners up we will get a place in CL i thought last year that I heard something like that if the team that plays in final of El is already qualified for CL the place goes to the other finalist.

Believe that if Athletico win it, & finish 2nd in their domestic league, then the spare place for the CL goes to the next team down in their domestic league…
We need to win it & to stop fannying around in the process. Only then will we be wotthy of being in the CL, as currently we are not either based on our domsetic performance or anywhere else for that matter..
No it doesn’t go down their league nor the runners up. They’d still bring four from Spain and do that thing of champions from federation “X” enter the group phase directly and champions of federation”Y” are promoted from the third round of qualifiers to replace X in the knockout round. A country can only have more than 4 representatives (5) only if the Europa league winners didn’t make the top 4. It will be like a breath of fresh air to be knocked out of a European R16 by a team other than Bayern Munich.

Given our CL history of always facing either Barcelona or Bayern in the Round of 16, I’m gonna go ahead and assume we will draw with either Dortmund or Athletico Madrid

All very decent teams. Such a shame about the cup tied rule with Auba. Let’s hope lacazette is back from injury quickly. Welbeck unfortunately doesn’t look upto it upfront at the moment until he regains some confidence. think he would be much better out wide due to his immense work rate.

It’s the second-tier competition, but these are some first-tier clubs. When the best case scenario is a trip halfway across the continent, it’s going to be a challenge.
Based on what we have shown this season we really don’t deserve a spot in the CL. I say let the boys earn it by beating the following teams in order until lifting the trophy: Athletic Bilbao, Milan, Dortmund and Madrid in the final. Tired of this mediocrity.

“If the players that played today get another run in the next round, Arsenal would be seeded 16th in that list of teams”
Time to ensure we take this seriously and field our best 11 for each game.
My money is on Arsene fielding a similar line up for the next round (except maybe if we draw Atletico / Dortmund).

Oh gosh. It might be Dynamo…the excitement of seeing Arsenal in Kyiv vs. the horror of choosing between two clubs i support the most.
The Spanish, German, French and Russian teams are all very strong. Plzen, Kyiv and Salzburg are first price here. Sporting and Lazio handlable..
Shame Dortmund didn’t go out, they very nearly did
The whole season I’ve been reading comments on these blogs along the lines of “…when we win the Europa League..” or “We could/must win the EL to get into Champions League…” and even here today, we have punters speculating about who we will be facing in the final.
Where did we get these delusions?
Our biggest worry now is; will be be able to qualify for the Europa League next season. 4th place trophy is well beyond us now

We were found out and I’m fast losing any belief we might win this competition.
If we were old Arsenal I’d say Milan and Atletico might be troublesome, the rest a walk in the park.
Now, with this team pretending to be Arsenal , all opponents seem lethal.
But of course , the Arsenal of Henry, Pires and Viera would never be in EL anyhow…
its better we face the best opposition now than later. Whats the point of wishing for lesser opposition. The team should stop playing with our emotions.? if we are going out lets go out if not…..good riddance to bad rubbish. Worst arsenal team in years!?
I don’t know if am the only one seeing it that Arsenal will definitely screw things up and not qualify for Champions league not through winning the Europa league. We lack the mentality to do so. please lets start preparing for next season.
