Arsene Wenger confirmed that David Ospina would start tomorrow night’s game against Ostersunds FK and Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Man City.
The Colombian is the European/cup keeper, a situation that was clarified with Petr Cech at the start of the season, for reasons the Arsenal manager outlined.
“It’s always a difficult decision but I think they are clear about that,” said the Frenchman.
“Since the start of the season, it’s clear. He played in the whole competition. I have two world-class goalkeepers and I decided from the start on to have clarity in the games they play.
“I maintain that.”
Meanwhile, Ospina has spoke about his new role as the dressing room DJ following the departure of the previous music maestro Olivier Giroud to Chelsea.
The French international would spin mad tunes before the games, getting the lads up for it with classics like Rhythm of the Night, I got the key (I got the secret) and a baker’s dozen of really truly great and not at all shit remixes of Moby songs from that album where every song got played everywhere all the goddam time.
Now, DJ Dave is the man in charge, and he’s adding some Latin rhythms to the playlist.
“Olivier used to be in charge of the selection but now that he’s gone to Chelsea, sometimes I select the music, sometimes it’s Mustafi,” he said.
“We try to create a happy mood before we walk on to the pitch. I just set my phone down and start off with some reggaeton.
“I just play things that we listen to in South America.”
David Ospina’s top 5 dressing room hits
1: Luis Fonsi – Despacito.
2: Carlos Bandana – Sol húmedo
3: Guillaume Gallas – Me gusta sentarme
4: Esteve Irwin – Mi amor es un cocodrilo
5: Yo mismo – Quiero un cuello
Despacito song is the only one I know.
The rest are made up:
3: William Gallas – I like to sit..
If only Moby was made up.
Any chance you can translate the others mate?
Carlos Bandanna – Humid Sun
William Gallas – I Like To Sit
Steve Irwin – My Love Is A Crocodile
Myself – I Want A Neck
It doesn’t surprise me one bit that Ospina is the new musical force. It’s well known that both sides of the brain are engaged when it comes to music, and goalkeepers are very much like when it comes to football. They can kick it (left side of the brain) and catch it (right side of the brain), so it’s a natural progression for him to take over the pre-match entertainment. He wouldn’t be the first goalie to make his name in the world of music either. I remember seeing ex Man United great Alex Stepney playing in a skiffle band… Read more »
Priceless! I love you, Pete.
Happy days! My facial expression, after scrolling back up, could be a gif.
Good to have you back Pete! Did you ever find out what his hairy banjo sounded like? I know that early jazz and blues folk were often too poor to afford regular instruments so they made them up themselves and they often sounded excellent…I’m reminded of Seasick Steve who also used his missus’ cooking utensils to equally good effect…doubt whether mine would agree to it though. ..
That must have something to do with why Cech is really a good drummer..
“Simply the Best” by Tina Turner
“Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” by Starship
“Ain’t No Stopping Us Now” by McFadden and Whitehead
“We Are The Champions” by Queen
“I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas
are all good, aspirational.
Eh?
Yeah, they’d inspire me to never listen to music again
They are all songs for winners.

Would be good to have Arsenal players inspired.
In that they aspire to be music, but ultimately fail.
Do you do weddings?
Alexis? Is that you?
No, I won’t take you back. Sorry.

hang on a minute – my love is a crocodile/coke head?!!
Anyhow as long as it’s upbeat Latin dance music, maybe we’ll see fewer zzz type 1st half performances.
Given that the artist is Steve Irwin, it seems appropriate.
The artist formerly known as steve irwin.
Papa Lazarou 🙂
Going by some of the performances this season, I’m thinking they that have accidentally mixed the tunes up with Paul Mckenna’s “I can help you sleep.”
Honestly, I’m shocked that this isn’t already a top-5 thread of the year.
I already knew that all from the UK are the worst accented in romantic languages, but you can read and write it.
El Payaso – Mou
Me encanta mi mente – Mike Dean
Nuestros pelo – Conte y Klopp
Please, take this forward as Andy’s original post deserves.
