Burnley’s visit to the Emirates rescheduled

Arsenal have confirmed that the match with Burnley, the club’s final game at the Emirates this season, will now take place on Sunday 6 May at 4.30pm.

The clash, originally scheduled for the Saturday 5 May, has been moved due to the Gunners continued involvement in the Europa League.

Arsene Wenger’s men will take on Atletico Madrid in the second-leg of their semi-final on Thursday 3 May.

Here’s a fun fact, in light of the latest fixture switch, Arsenal will end the season having played only four games at 3pm on a Saturday. Wins at home against Bournemouth (Sep 9), Swansea (Oct 28), Newcastle (Dec 16) and Crystal Palace (Jan 20).

Here’s how the rest of our fixtures shape up…

Sunday 15 April, 13.30
Newcastle United (A)

Sunday 22 April, 13.30
West Ham United (H)

Thursday 26 April, 20.05
Atletico Madrid (H)

Sunday 29 April, 16.30
Manchester United (A)

Thursday 3 May, 20.05
Atletico Madrid (A)

Sunday 6 May, 16.30
Burnley (H)

Wednesday 9 May, 19.45
Leicester City (A)

Sunday 13 May, 15.00
Huddersfield Town (A)

…oh and there’s a possible trip to Lyon as well.

United sandwiched right between our Europa Semis.. FML

vystina

Wasn’t that actually the same with them last season, think they played us between their semi finals.

Pedant

So we would have had an Invincibles season if all our matches were at 3pm on a Saturday, given we won them all.

I don’t think anyone can argue with that logic.

Jack

I hope the Burnley and Leicester games are broadcast on TV!

Could – frankly SHOULD – be Wenger’s last home game. Hmmmm…..

Sheffield Gooner

Great, looks like they’re all on the telly then, I except the last one. Makes the ludicrous money I pay seem alomost worth it.

So you’re saying if we’d played all games Saturday 3pm, ala old school, we’d have won the title at a canter?!
