Video: Arsenal 1-1 Atletico Madrid – Wenger press conference

Arsene Wenger spoke to the press after the 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid at the Emirates on Thursday night.

Sadly the manager’s final European game at home didn’t end with the win we wanted, and conceding the late equaliser really feels like a kick in the nuts.

Here’s what he had to say.

Fuck these spineless weak players, I hope they all fuck off next season disregarding maybe 5 players. Old players need to fuck off, Koscienly has been unreal for us over the years, this season looks like his achilles or age is hampering his ability to perform and is making stupid rookie mistakes. Xhaka and Mustafi are obviously nowhere near good enough, Monreal has never been a good defender, and never will be, so sick of hearing he’s the most underrated player in the league, he’s a headless chicken that only performs when everyone around him does, and I couldn’t care less about the goals he’s scored, he’s put on the pitch to defend and I think he’s just not got the composure to be a defender at a top team in the most paces ajd physical league.

I actually feel bad for Wenger, he put faith in a bunch of little bitches, how we went into half time 0-0, how we conced the stupidest rookie goal at the end, absolutely pathetic. If they didn’t get a man sent off it would have been to exactly like the United game. Get the job done early and sit back and relax. This team is pathetic. I’m not an arsenal fan until next season starts, fuck this team, fuck the board, fuck the players, the stupid fucking media team, they’re probably the biggest losers here. I know I’m ranting, Icouldnt care less if you agree or disagree, I’m fucking DONE with this shit team. If we get some loser like brenden Rodgers I’m just gonna give up football. Thank you pussy millionaires for doing what you do best and fucking it all up. I couldn’t tell from the tv but I hope they got booed off the pitch. We’re not scoring against atletico in their home, and costa is gonna terrorize our pussy defenders.

To add insult to injury, we’re losing to Mourinho’s united on Sunday too.

I could call you a moron but that would be too kin

Maybe I was emotional last night and I’d put it in a better way, but disregard the language, everything I said was spot on. Since I’m a moron and you’re such a genius, explain what points were wrong.

If you’re happy being in Europa, great but I don’t enjoy seeing my club in a decline. Atletico went down to 10 men in the first 9 minutes, we absolutely dominated, had over 20 shots on target but could only score 1. They get dominated, but hang on, believe in their selves and defend. One long ball over the top and we collapse like a bunch of fuckin knobs.

If you guys wanna enjoy us losing to United, then probably losing to Atletico and maybe getting it together to beat Huddersfield and cement our 6th place then be my guest. I’m done with this emotional roller coaster.

Everyone thinks everything’s gonna be rosey now that Wengers gone, I’m actually really worried. Gazidis looks like the sneakiest and slimiest person ever, we really don’t know what’s going on in the background. He’s so full of shit I don’t think he knows the difference between the truth and his bs anymore. Sven Mislintat is more combustible than anything we’ve ever had at arsenal, and ultimately we’re in the hands of silent Stan, with his retarded son getting more involved.

I don’t see how we win the league any time soon, everyone thinks new manager comes in and we go back to competing but that’s not necessarily the case, and we don’t have the owner/board to just continuously spend large amounts if things don’t work out – like united have.

Close the door on the way out.

We played OK, but it really gets to me that their defenders stood tall against some pretty decent attacking play from us with only 10 on the pitch and a roaring home crowd, while our defenders conceded a goal as tame and unnecessary as that. Rahhhhhhh.

We all want him to have this trophy as a parting present and get us back in the CL but tonight’s performance summarized this team’s philosophy. Attack attack, lose chances, lose the ball when the team is unbalanced, get caught 1 on 1 with a long through ball and the rest are known…Wenger is actually being punished for his own philosophy ? it was a great chance to get a 2-0 with us in Spain…

We should get a trophy for dominating possession and having a lot of chances.

People faulting the gaffer for not having enough “game management” when we were against 10 men.

Truth is we lack options on the bench.

We surrendered our plan B when we (not Wenger I’m sure) decided to let go of Giroud and instead load up a cup tied striker from Germany.

I said it back then we were risking it since even then, it looked pretty obvious this was potentially going to be the main route back in.

Sure Bellerin and MOnreal were good today taking on players but that is exactly the problem, we need our fullbacks to come up to be able to exploit width.

We don’t have natural wide players and we do not have a player (or two) who can beat a couple of opponents on his own accord.

Therefore when Granit (and he was good today as he has been for several matches now) pumps the ball up field accurately releasing us to counter quickly, with the players we have, they either have to wait for the fullbacks to come up or if they face opponents ahead of them, they tend to pass the ball backwards.

A Mahrez or Thauvin is what we need. Someone who can give us more dynamism even without the fullbacks up field.

Many times, our build up was too ponderous and they predictably retreated back into the shell (playing against ten men can be more difficult as you need to pick them apart during point of transition when we win the ball back in those rare forays they would have going forward)

This is the problem with the team. Our composition is not right. We did not buy players with any strategic forethought or for the sake of the team’s balance.

That said, we now go to Spain and hopefully we will have Mhkitaryan back.

We need to be more direct and less intricate.

What matters now is to go to the Wanda Nara 🙂 stadium and get the right result.

We can still do it.

When even Wenger looks pissed with the defending you know you were below shocking. Mustafi and Koscielny are an absolute shambles right now. Ruined what would have been a great performance with an ok result..Now its a great performance and a fuck up with a terrible result.
How do you concede to a team that is actively trying to shut up shop.
Also why does Bellerin have license to go absolutely awol (everywhere BUT right back) but deliver so little..gets into good delivery positions about 50 times a match …You might get 4 half decent deliveries.
Actually felt for Wenger…In some of these big games we have been spanked in Wenger has actually set the team up well and we start good than someone just does some inexplicable mistake you rarely see from professionals. Massive individual errors leading to goals on a consistent basis (Our stat this season for this is embarrasing). You can say its his fault for buying the players but alot of the errors are those clangers you catch on christmas comedy specials. Last nights goal being a great example.

boy, the new manager has got his work cut out when he takes over, plus he has got to buy SIX class players for fifty million, though he should get a few million from the sale of ozil, good luck who ever you are
