Arsenal have completed the signing of Matteo Guendouzi from Lorient, as video footage of him signing his contract confirms.
The 19 year old emerged as a surprise target for the Gunners over the weekend, and was, according to reports, convinced to sign by new head coach Unai Emery.
Guendouzi, a deep lying midfielder, made 21 appearances for his club last season in all competitions, and arrives at Arsenal as a player for the future.
With Europa League and cup competitions providing plenty of opportunities next season, he should get plenty of chances.
We wait for official confirmation from the club itself, including a bit more detail, but the signing appears to be done and dusted.
Great stuff, looks to have a lot of potential, athletic, energetic and a good passer.
Hope it works out.
Contract must include a clause that he isn’t supposed to cut that hair.
There should definitely be more hair related discipline in the new setup. Reminds me of…..
Mr. Burns: Mattingly! I thought I told you to trim those sideburns! GO HOME!!! YOU’RE OFF THE TEAM, FOR GOOD!!!
He actually shaved bald a band from one sideburn, up and around his head and down over the other sideburn. A bald ting atound his head. Zero sideburn as received that final reprimand. Brilliant episode. Right up there with the ‘spruce bruce’. “I said….get in”
That hair. That damned hair.
Arsenal have found their bottle supply.
And after trying to sign Luiz, Fellaini and Adli have finally landed a man with proper hair.
This is a key signing in Ivan’s new commercial partnership with Eddie Murphy’s “Soul Glo”

Can’t say I know much about him but he seems to be fairly highly rated. £7million for an unproven 19 year old is a lot, so let’s hope he lives up to the price tag!
I think he was entering the last year of his contract so his fee would probably been higher if he had more time left on his contract. He is clearly very happy to run his contracts down so he will fit right in at Arsenal.
Indeed He is hairly rated by gazidis and co
No, Clins. No! 😀
Anyone who says; ‘I won’t believe it until it’s on Arsenal.com’, deserve a punch right in the tits
Piss off you Bastard
I listened to the podcast mate, I get ya.
Without the context you can understand some of the thumbs down!
What a ‘…’douzy’
Does he throw his elbows around too?
Based on his hair alone
He might deliver well for us, unai emery have his reason behind the signing, he knows more than we do. Let be happy that we are active in summer business. We now need a winger to complete it all.????coyg
water way to sign your first contract at arsenal
Luk lik emery
Is up to wat’s supposed to be done
Was wenger blind??
Finally right man for right club
Emery …✍?✍?✅✅
Not blind, but with a different vision.
Not sure about Wenger being blind, but after deciphering this gibberish I might well be!
Can we call him side show
No then
It’s official its on the. Com
For years Wenger would say “more than three signings unbalances the squad”
Looks like we’re going all out to ignore that suggestion
Well changing the manager unbalances the squad in a much more significant way. The manager has to be a me to shuffle personnel to get his vision going, however I wouldn’t imagine the level of activity we are seeing this summer is going to be the norm
I’d hope not, though next summer may see activity as there’s a season of assessment behind them all- not to mention the replacements for all the 29/30 year olds will need some attention
He’s a very advanced player. Plays deeper than Cesc used to but is a definite star. By next season he will be a regular. Best bit of business for a long time. At the moment we are lacking a central playmaker, but GUENDOUZI will become that. Solid lad who gets stuck in and has vision. All in all, with Torreira, a new phase for Arsenal. Shame though Fulham probably signing Jean Seri on the cheap. Would have been a Santi clone for us.
Cazorla was by far and away our best player since 2012… If Seri was anywhere near the level of Santi? Then he wouldn’t be going to Fulham… he’d be going to Real Madrid
will he get home grown status?
In a few years, yes
Looks a player. Noticeable how his teammates trust him with the ball and how he likes to spread play out to the flanks. Tall lad too.
Welcome to Arsenal.
second best option
to?
hey Hector, that’s what i call a cool hairdo!
I know he’s a young player coming into a new, physically demanding league, but I do hope we all give him a hair chance.
This looks like a serious move by the club to back Unai’s preference for the defensive midfield to drop in between the centrebacks and allow both full backs forward.
Torreira being 22yo will also help Unai shape the players in the most important position in his system
