Arsenal take on Brentford this evening in the Carabao Cup. As expected, Unai Emery has made some changes.
Here are tonight’s official line-ups.
Arsenal: Leno, Lichtsteiner, Holding, Mustafi, Monreal, Guendouzi, Elneny, Mkhitaryan, Smith Rowe, Iwobi, Welbeck
Subs: Martinez, Bellerin, Ramsey, Lacazette, Torreira, Kolasinac, Nketiah
Brentford:Daniels, Odubajo, Canos, Yennaris, Watkins, Mokotjo, Judge, Sawyers, Jeanvier, Konsa, Barbet
Subs: Bentley, Macleod, Mepham, Maupay, McEachran, Benrahma, Dalsgaard
Missed smith-Rowe off team mind blogs.
He’s so fast you can’t see him
ESR is our secret agent. Like the strong bench a lot.
From my Brentford season ticket friend:
‘Bees can’t play away. Arsenal 3-0’
Let’s see if he is right.
That’s a brave line up – 10 men to start – I still reckon we can do it 🙂
Crossing fingers all those defenders finish the match unscathed and are healthy for the weekend. COYG!!!
Not a shabby team by any means. We should win this without much fuss, please guys
Brentford are also not a shabby team, doing a not to shabby job in the Championship so don’t count your chickens before they’ve been tested for an allergy to bees.
Looks a strong team despite first team players not in the squad, good position to be in ?
Like the way we are going in strong. United out, one of pool/Chelsea out tonight.
This is no champions league nor PL but I’ll be excited to win a trophy. Any trophy.
Brentford: Who cares
Emmm.. Arsenal fans? Generally speaking being a fan of a club tends to mean one cares about a match and a result.. who knew!?
Same as some Man U fans probably never cared about their game last night but then cared this morning? Every win is important. Especially under all the changes
Oh God!
I wrote this earlier when the article stated:
“Arsenal: squad names blah blah”
Subs: blah blah
Brentford: (blank)
So I wrote this to mean Brentford squad names: who cares ?
You think I’d not care about this game? Arsenal games are my heroin shots ?
A very decent lineup. Shame though that we aren’t able to rest a few of our defenders. Hopefully they won´t have to do much defending tonight 🙂 COYG
Hopefully kolasinac and nketiah will get some minutes off the bench
Strong team, I like it. And welcome back to the Emirates Nico Yennaris, i met him once at an open training session, top bloke, really down to earth.
no rest for Monreal!
Would have liked to have seen Eddie from the start but I’m sure he’ll come on during the game.
COYG!!! Don’t pull a Man U in this game, haha
Should we win, the draw for the 4th round is at 9pm UK time on Saturday 29 September.
Emery has gone for a stronger team than expected I think. After the mention about chance to youngsters, it’s the more seasoned ones like Iwobi and Holding than Eddie, except for ESR, even on the bench.
However I’ve no complaints as we are going for this cup.
Hopefully Eddie and Kolasinac get some mins and we don’t suffer any injuries today.
Kinda off topic, but I wasn’t sure where else to post this: I’ve been unable to use the liveblog from my android device, the page just sits ‘loading’ for a long time. So far this has happened for all games that arseblog has ‘liveblogged’ this season. Not the end of the world, as I can still access the livenlog on the desktop page, but would be nice for all arsenal fans (regardless of their choice in mobile devices) to have access to the coverage provided thru the liveblog.
Liveblog works on my Android. Maybe clear cache/cookies and try again?
Going well so far, I hope this means some youngsters can be brought into play late on
Why was Leno so far across the goal when they took and scored that free kick?
