Arsenal take on Qarabag of Azerbaijan in the Europa League, with Unai Emery looking to lead his side to an eighth consecutive victory in all competitions.
Here are tonight’s official line-ups. UEFA have the formation as three at the back, and there’s no place on the bench for Eddie Nketiah.
Qarabag: Vagner, Garayev, Medvedev, Emeghara, Michel, Madatov, Zoubir, Ozobic, Agolli, Rzezniczak, Huseynov
Subs: Halldorsson, Mammadov, Slavchev, Abdullayev, Delarge, Huseynov, Diniyev
Arsenal: Leno, Lichtsteiner, Holding, Sokratis, Monreal, Kolasinac, Guendouzi, Elneny, Smith Rowe, Iwobi, Welbeck
Subs: Martinez, Bellerin, Mustafi, Xhaka, Torreira, Ozil, Lacazette
Sead left wing?
or left mid ahead of Monreal? might be a good way to get him some minutes plus he’s pretty good going forward.
I can’t imagine we’re going to have an extra D against a weaker opponent…but then again, maybe Emery’s using the game to test a new formation.
COYG!!!
A second team pretty much. Still good enough to win or, if not winning, enough talent on the bench to pull us around.
Hoping for the 8th in a row.
Excited to see Emile Smith-Rowe getting a start
EL and League cup used to be the place to give a chance to some young talents to shine. Now we get only Smith-Rowe in the squad.
if not now, when?
once we’ve won the group you’ll see many more youngsters
Isn’t that the time we thought we were bigger than Europa league level? Or thought the other was the worthless cup? And used to think we’d just turn up and pick 3 points by default against Norwich or Birmingham in the league? I like Emery. We have fallen down to this level but we are also taking it very very seriously and it’s OK with me. Maybe the players will learn that there are no simple games and no worthless trophies. As for the youngsters, maybe they’ll work extra hard and once they get in the team, they’ll know they… Read more »
Monreal? Again!?
The fullback is such a demanding position and he is going to play again on the weekend. Ridiculous!
What’s going on? Thank God I ran into this (hiding the fact that I load news.arseblog about fifty times a day anyways). I honestly thought the game wasn’t for another couple of hours
its earlier for somereason
Half of the group stage games are at 9:55 and half are at 12:00, to maximize TV coverage. This is the second year of it.
The reason might be that the local starting time is 21:55…
Remember it’s quite far east. A lot of Eastern European games have been earlier for years.
Delarge is my DJ name.
Mine’s Mammadov.
Iwobi first goal 7/1. Bet with responsibility

Should force a loan move like Reiss Nelson
damn monreal is getting so many minutes! Hopefully he’s still fit as a goat
I was thinking the same. I thought he looked a bit jaded against Watford last week. Really thought he’d be given a rest in this match, with Kolasinac fit again.
I think Tank is playing left side in front of Nacho to save him some of the leg work of tearing up and down the wing all game. I’d rather he just left our little spanish mate at home.
Maybe it’s a 4-3-3 formation?
This looks a well balanced side lets hope no 8 win is tonite
Maybe 3-4-3? (Lichsteiner-Guendouzi-Elneny-Kola, as the 4), if Smth-Rowe can play on the wing. Or 3-5-2 with Smith Rowe in advance of the other 4 and Danny and Iwobi interchanging. Or maybe just Total Football.
Looks like a very good mixture of experience, youth, and fringe players. Should be enough for a good win. Come on Arsenal!
Hope Iwobi and Welbeck keep the pressure on the first team tonight. They have had a great start
Maybe Kolasinac is going to play wide
