It’s Europa League action this evening as we take on Sporting, looking for the win that would guarantee our qualification for the knock-out round, and pretty much assure we topped the group.
Here are the official line-ups.
Arsenal: Cech, Lichtsteiner, Sokratis, Holding, Jenkinson, Guendouzi, Ramsey, Smith Rowe, Iwobi, Mkhitaryan, Welbeck
Subs: Martinez, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Torreira, Maitland-Niles, Aubameyang, Nketiah
Sporting: Ribeiro, Coates, Fernandes, Acuna, Montero, Nani, Mathieu, Diaby, Gaspar, Gudelj, Luis
Subs: Salin, Jefferson, Pinto, Mane, Petrovic, Dost, Cabral
Looks alright
Strange Sokratis looks to have fallen down the pecking order
Hard to know if he’s nursing a more serious injury or if EMery views mustolding as a long term partnership
He seems to be struggling fitness wise to put 2 games together rather than falling out of favour
That’s a reasonable assumption, he did take that knock to the leg which looked to be a dead leg but maybe was more serious.
Given our slightly stretched defence at the minute we can’t afford to give him a full day off, even the warm up and warm down may do little to help a muscle injury
Well balanced. Good luck Boys. Lets continue our amazing form. COYG.
Happy enough with this, hopefully we’re able to get Maitland and nketiah on the pitch for some significant minutes too
I feel a little pang seeing Diaby’s name there.
Really looking forward to seeing Guendouzi again, thought he was brilliant a week ago against Blackpool.
Strong team, even if a lot of second teamers. Plus Auba to help if needed.
Let’s kill the group off this evening.
Off topic…. Lacazette not called by Deschamps in french national team–> another double to be scored this weekend 😉
Well balanced – now we will see Ramsey playing alongside Guendouzi
Seems to me Emery is taking Wolves seriously. I thought the idea was to finish off the qualification of the Europa league and put out the kids in the next round.
This team might have their hands full tonight.
COYG.
Did anyone see welbecks injury? I came back into the room to see him on a stretcher
Univision didn’t show a replay, but he went in hard to try and get a header in front of goal. Given the faces of the squad as they cut to each, it was probably for the best that no replays were shown.
My guess would be a dislocation.
They just showed a replay, no sign of what happened exactly. Looks like his ankle though
A lil off topic but did you guys see this. http://www.beinsports.com/en/uefa-champions-league/video/uefa-champions-league-arsene-wenger-reactio-1/1027727
