Arsenal confirm four February fixture changes

Arsenal have confirmed the date and kick-off time for the return leg of our Europa League game with BATE Borisov, as well as changes to three Premier League fixtures in February.

Prior to yesterday’s draw for the Europa League knockout stage, UEFA informed Arsenal that our match at the Emirates would be brought forward from Thursday 22nd February to Wednesday 21st February so no to clash with the match of fellow seeds Chelsea. What’s more, to avoid any overlap with Champions League football, they then specified a 5pm kick-off.

Arsenal, quite rightly, complained that this would be a ballache for fans and UEFA have since returned the match to Thursday, although the specified 5.55pm kick-off still irks.

Arsenal vs BATE Borisov
Competition: Europa League
Date: Thursday, 22 February 2019
Kick-off: 5.55pm
Live on: BT Sport

For a variety of other reasons (TV selection, continued participation in the Europa League and a possible Carabao Cup final) other matches have been moved, with some still subject to further change.

Manchester City v Arsenal
Competition: Premier League
Date: Sunday, 3 February 3, 2019 (previously Saturday, 2 February )
Kick-off: 4.30pm
Live on: Sky Sports

Arsenal v Southampton
Competition: Premier League
Date: Sunday, 24 February (originally Saturday, 23 February)
Kick-off: 2.05pm

If we’re in the final of the Carabao Cup, the game with the Saints will move again.

Arsenal v AFC Bournemouth
Competition: Premier League
Date: Wednesday, 27 February (originally Tuesday, 26 February)
Kick-off: 7.45pm

On a completely unrelated note, Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Manchester United. ?

Pedant

It’s a shame, I was really enjoying the work Mourinho was doing at Man U.

They are having a caretaker manager for the season I gather, hope Van Gaal is free.

High gooner

im starting to like you more and more Pedant..

A Different George

Isn’t Guus Hiddink the official interim replacement for Mourinho? Unless Matthew Whitaker is available (an American joke).

C.B.

Three home matches and three very good chances to win. Not so sure about the away match though…

Timsh

Hate to be a pedant but it’s Thursday, 21st February, not 22nd 😉

GunnAlex

You don’t though do you?… You LOVE IT!

Timsh

You may be right but I’ve been told all my life that nobody likes pedants ?

Pedant

Pedants are trying to get things right by checking facts given. Knowing the right date for a football match is useful for lots of people, see above.

The people who have told you that about pedants are just upset they get things wrong and someone has told them.

If they stepped back and thought about it they should have been grateful.

Pedant

Don’t apologise for being a pedant, there are few better things that you can be.

Good spot, well done!

We play when we play. Important as that is of course. But Mourinho being sacked is one of the christmassy things that happens every 3 years and is all the more precious. And he’s still a massive, MASEIVE, cunt.

Faris

It’s sad that for football fans in general that Maureen got the sacked. He always never fails to provides constant entertainment when the world needs it.

SB Still

I think it’s perfect fit and timing for Mourinho and Stoke.

Twatsloch

Do orchs know how to park buses? Do they even drive?

Wenger 40/1 to be next United manager

Speaking of fixtures, Blackpool v Solihull tonight, we await the winner (away) in the FA Cup third round. Solihull’s stadium capacity is only 3,050. Even Sutton United’s ground when we played them last year was 5,013.
