Following the 3-0 win over Blackpool in the third round, Arsenal have been handed a fourth round tie with Manchester United.
The Gunners will be at home for what will be one of the most difficult games of the round, and it’s not the easy game many had hoped for.
The two sides last met in the cup in the 2014-15 season when goals from Danny Welbeck and Nacho Monreal gave us a 2-1 win at Old Trafford. Before that, United had two successive wins: 2-0 and 4-0 at home.
The Red Devils have been rejuvenated under caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and will provide a stern test for Unai Emery’s men. But we’ve always had to beat some big guns along the way to our record number of FA Cup wins, so another one lies in our path.
The game will take place over the weekend of the 25th – 28th of January.
Why oh why just once couldn’t it be Arsenal v Barnet at the Emirates!!!
Personally I really like cup games against big teams. Usually a great game of football!
Provided you win
Yup, very defeatest attitude from some. Granted we don’t do that well against the ‘big teams’ but at home we can certainly beat manure
I was hoping for that too. Given the history between Arsenal and Barnet, it would be good to see them play competitively.
Completely disagree, I want us to put them back in their place! Win that game and we basically end their season. They’ve played no one since Mourinho has left so let’s remind the world what chumps they are. GOYG!!!
They are not really chumps tbf, Jose just made them look like chumps.. they are already snapping at our heels and with the defense we have, we better watch out..
Hopefully we can make them look like chumps as well
It’s Manure. They’re chumps. Always have been, always will be. Maureen was the perfect chump manager. But no real chump status change at that club under new management.
That Ole Gunnar guy has been way way too enthusiastic for my liking.
we’ve had some pretty easy draws over the years in the FA Cup. What’s the difference this time? haha 🙂
Liverpool, City, Chelsea etc?
Fuck
Would love to, but I’m more of an Eve kind of guy.
Why, we can do ’em
Let’s eliminate Man Utd before playing Brentford or Barnet in the next round.
FFS
Fuck but it is also going to be fun 🙂
Bring…. it….. on
We’re at home, I fancy our chances.
Crap! At least mourinho’s no longer managing them so hopefully we can get a result… best be at the emerytes stadium!
At least we’re at home, that should hopefully make the difference…
Is it too late for ManU to rehire Mourinho?
They fired him too soon
Manure are crap.
That is technically correct.
But not grammatically
It’s a fix!!!
Would have preferred not to see a top six team, but it is what it is. Bring it on and let’s bring Solskjaer back down to earth!
It’s not solskjaer I’m worried about its flipping mike phelan
Glad we got a big side. If we go through it’ll be good for confidence, if we loose it will be good for the schedule. Glass half full over here!
Someone’s starting 2019 with a smile
Lose
Reckon this will be a Friday night job. Big week with Chelsea the Sat before.
Might be sacrilege on here, but pleased we don’t have a 2 leg LC semi sandwiched between these games #ducksforcover
It’s on Saturday at 12.00.
I give correct infyand I get thumbs down. Strange
Information
It’s Saturday 26th 3pm Martin according to Google.
On the bright side, we got the shitter Manchester club.
FA Cup elimination now allows Liverpool to focus on not winning the league for the 29th season in a row
Bring it on!
– Beating them will fill the squad with confidence so early on that we can perhaps go all the way. You don’t get when drawing smaller teams.
– At least we don’t risk underestimating the opponent
Our cup on our ground against United. Get in!!
We didn’t kick them when they were down at Old Trafford, atleast now let’s get the job done.
I’ll take it. Need to have a game to focus on instead of some banana skin where we put out weakened team.
If we lose it gives us fewer games to pick up injuries and focus on EL; if we win the confidence is up and one less big team to meet later on (or two with Scousers departure).
I LOVE WINNING FA CUP.
Great draw for us, as the holders of the most wins we can make sure on our home pitch that we kill manpoos chance of catching us up. This game will have a lot riding on it so should be a big old ruck of a game. I’m looking forward to it.
Could have been worse, we are at home and dodged the spuds. But this is what you get when that prat Robbie Keane is picking the numbers out!
Lets beat them. Anything can happen. two weeks ago or less, press were having the usual wank about Liverpuddle going unbeaten all season. They just got knocked out of the FA cup and they are within sight of City still. United may be (unfortunately) resurgent following Moanrinho’s departure and Ole football is back but there’s a time for everything. We need to be very wary of them breathing down our neck just behind us now. What we need to do is sort out some semblance of regularity in the defensive 3 at the back. AND take our chances better further… Read more »
Nice time stick it to them
I hope both teams put strong squads out for this one. I am thinking though it will likely be a reserves game.
Hope Alexis brings some ear plugs.
We owes those cunts a kicking after they were allowed to foul and injure, with impunity at OT recently.
I still have fond memories of visiting the UK in 2003, watching Arsenal v United in a pub in Wolverhampton, eating fish and chips, and seeing Giggs put it over the bar in front of an empty net, literally. Happy days.
This is why the cup is great. Sure – a 6-1 win over a small side would be fun, but so also is the nervous anticipation of facing a big rival. The banter. The joy. The misery. What a competition.
Jose Mourinho is gone, now I am worried about “Stan Kroenke’s Red and White Army”
United are resurgent without that anchor around their necks and we need defenders. Hector, Nacho! Step up please.
Let’s get this done, if we have to lose let’s not embarrass ourselves
