Arsenal Women Sign Katrine Veje from Montpellier

Arsenal Women have announced the signing of Danish international Katrine Veje from Ligue 1 Feminin side Montpellier. Katrine is Arsenal’s second addition of the January window after her compatriot Janni Arnth.

Veje is a left sided attacker, largely, but can play at wing back. Montpellier announced her departure recently in a curt statement. Katrine will join the club with immediate effect and is available immediately.

Veje has also played for Odense, Malmo, Brondby and under former Gunners boss Laura Harvey at Seattle Reign. She is 27 and has also played for Odense, Malmo, Brondby and under former Gunners boss Laura Harvey at Seattle Reign. Katrine has 104 caps for Denmark.

Manager Joe Montemurro told Arsenal.com, “Katrine is a fantastic signing for us, she will bring experience and professionalism.

“She understands what it takes to win trophies and her variety of experience playing in different leagues around the world should help her adapt to the competitive standard of the WSL.”

I’m not clear as to whether she has also played for Odense, Malmo, Brondby and under former Gunners boss Laura Harvey at Seattle Reign.

We have a womens team that will attract all the best players well done! COYG!

Fun Gunner

Welcome to Arsenal, Katrine! Very excited to see you dribbling up the wing and cutting the ball back or crossing to Viv.

We’re a big family here – we’ll look after you.

Fun Gunner

Even with Veje, we have 20 players in the squad (not including the children) and only 10 fit outfield players. So Arsenal.

Peter Story Teller

A different philosphy to the men’s team! We are short of players so we sign some quality women despite leading the WSL with a huge positive goal difference!
Cannot wait to see Tabea extend her 5 minutes in an Arsenal shirt!

Fiers d'être Bleus

Funny story, went to school with her for 3 years. Hell of a dribbler and a powerful left foot. Remember in PE when all the guys would always play football when given the chance, she’d always join in there and absolutely school us.
Welcome to Arsenal, Katrine from a fellow Odenseaner!
