In exciting news we can reveal the shirt number that Denis Suarez will wear.
Are you ready?
What?
The image gave it away?
OH FFS.
It’s 22. Previously worn by such luminaries as Yaya Sanogo, Gael Clichy, The Jeff, Oleg Luzhny, David Grondin and J’Dinkalage Morgoone.
Speaking to the official site, Suarez said, “Some say 3 is a magic number but I say 22 is magic because 2 and 2 is 4 but also 2 minus 2 is zero so it can disappear just by rubbing up against itself.”
The Barcelona man has joined until the end of the season, and revealed he was a big fan of two of the best forwards the club have ever had.
“When I was little and I used to watch the Premier League on the TV, Arsenal were a team that really inspired me,” he actually said as opposed to the stuff he definitely didn’t say above.
“I used to watch Bergkamp and Henry – they’re both legends of the club and hopefully we can follow in their footsteps.”
Quick mafs
Should make Ray Parlour very happy.
time to get excited
Should have been number 21 but they added 1 for Suarez.
haha, Win win
I used to love J’Dinkalage Morgoone. It reminded me of that song we used to sing about him. “We’ve got Morgoone, J’Dinkalage Morgoone, I just don’t think you understand….
He was no Davoin Shower-Handel, though.
I had his name on the back of my shirt (and shorts as I ran out of room)
Is this a reflection on the number of clubs he’s played for?
What’s David Grondin doing these days?
Please don’t imply Gael Clichy was not an important player for us. I remember one of the many seasons that all the pundits slagged off our defence yet that same season the PFA team of the year included him and Sagna (also at Arsenal at the time) as the full backs. That means that his fellow professionals rated him. One of his many qualities was being able and willing to cross the ball with his weaker foot. Too many current players avoid using their weaker foot as if their life depends on it! Not to mention his speed, work rate… Read more »
Yes, his goal line clearance in the FA Cup against Hull when we were 2-0 down was as important as Cazorla pulling one back in the first half, and his brilliant long pass that found Ozil’s foot in mid air which he then went on to convert into his first assist for Arsenal on his debut game…Gael always gave his best whenever he played and never complained when he didn’t, he’ll always be a hero! So shame on you Blogs for forgetting your manners! 😡 On the other hand, welcome Suarez. We had famously wanted a different one, but under… Read more »
That’s Gibbs
No, it was the ox
I kept imagining Gibb’s face, but thinking of Clichy’s name. 😐 Sorry people. Nothing to see here, please move on.
Alright Andre Mariner
Damn, the Jeff wore 22? For how long?
C22L !
Suarez wears a tutu? Perhaps we did get Luis after all.
desmond TwoTwo
If he’s wearing 22… then what the hell is going to happen when we sign two little ducks!?
If he’s wearing a Tutu hopefully he is our little ballerina with quick feet in the middle to hold the ball better, like a certain Wenger signing (steal) Santi Carzola who was converted from the wings. We lack authority in possession. Our possession many times depends on passing. When we are pressed tight or those channels get restricted, our plans suffocate and we struggle. We need players who can engage and beat opponents in one oon one duels. Dennis could be able to provide this in the central areas. Its certainly a good addition to Granit, GUendouzi and Torreira and… Read more »
There’s no noise of anyone significant leaving this window (Ramsey)
This could be good news for us.
Certainly don’t expect any more additions (Nkunku or otherwise) so we will have to make do with what we have for remaining 14 matches in the league (plus Europa).
Not sure if Dennis is cup tied for Europa.
