Arsenal Women centre half Janni Arnth is set to join Arsenal’s Champions League Round of 32 opponents Fiorentina. The Dane joined the club from Swedish side Linkopings in the January transfer window, making 10 appearances for Arsenal and scoring 1 goal as they won the WSL title last season.
What a way to mark your @ArsenalWFC debut ?@JanniArnth with a bullet header ? pic.twitter.com/83L7J5Re6u

The 32-year old joins Serie A side Fiorentina who, funnily enough, have been drawn to play the Gunners in the Champions League next month. Janni has slipped further down the pecking order with the signing of Jen Beattie and didn’t feature in the team photocall or on the back of the programme for the Barcelona game.
There was some suggestion Janni would join Birmingham at the beginning of the window, so her exit is probably not a huge surprise. Good luck in Florence, Janni (just not on 12th and 26th September!)
You can read our exclusive interview with Janni and her compatriot Katrine Veje from earlier this summer here.
Thanks Tim, no surprise Janni has gone or for the reasons we suspected but perhaps her destination raises eyebrows.
Staying in London over the weekend so hope to be able to make the match Sunday afternoon even if it is only a “friendly” between North London rivals!
Arsenal’s defense was not good against Wolfsburg or Barcelona. They are two good teams, admittedly, and good teams expose one’s weaknesses.
Thanks Janni. You leave a Champion. Your arrival during the injury crisis was very welcome as was your bullet header against the ‘ammers. Titles are won in such moments.Good luck???
Can I just say…Arsenal Women are bloody brilliant. A source of great pride for our great club.
Sorry to see you go Janni, but good luck at Fiorentina – except when you play us of course 😉
