A month since we first reported the deal, it’s been confirmed that Kelechi Nwakali has joined SD Huesca in a permanent deal.
The Nigerian joined Arsenal in 2016 having won the Golden Ball award at the under-17 World Cup but he never played a game for first team.
The 21-year-old spent time on loan at MVV Maastricht, VVV Venlo and Porto B, but didn’t do enough to convince Arsene Wenger or Unai Emery that he has what it takes to cut it in England.
Nwakali dismissed reports linking him to Huesca a month ago, but the deal has been done and his future, for the time being, will be in Spain’s second division.
Good luck to Kelechi. We have a feeling he might do quite well at his new club.
We want sell on, we want sell on,
Coz when he leaves their ass, we gonna leave with half.
I remember the day Arsenal signed this guy who I saw as a “pibe del oro” based on his performances at U17 WC. Good luck to him. Wish him same as Benacer.
