According to the Leeds correspondent in The Athletic (£), Arsenal are likely to recall Eddie Nketiah from his loan spell at Leeds United.
The 20 year old has done quite well, scoring goals early in his time at Elland Road, but has yet to start a league match for them this season. He also picked up a couple of injuries which have hampered his progress.
The Gunners are reportedly concerned about the amount of playing time, and it’s believed a recall would be with another loan move in mind.
Nketiah has five goals in sixteen appearances in all competitions, and also notched a few for Leeds U23s.
However, he hasn’t been able to convince Marcelo Bielsa that he’s ready to start ahead of the more physical Patrick Bamford.
Meanwhile, James Benge of Football London reports that Emile Smith Rowe is heading away from the Emirates in January in a loan move designed to give him regular playing time.
He moved to RB Leipzig at the end of the transfer window last January, but ongoing injury problems meant he barely featured.
The 19 year old made his Premier League debut for the Gunners in recent weeks, and was handed his first ever start in the 0-0 draw with Everton.
However, at his age playing with more frequency and learning his trade – perhaps in the Championship – is seen as more beneficial and he could well depart next month.
Happy birthday Andrew.
ESR will be a future star for us
Recall would be a wise choice, Bielsa just don’t see him as a first choice striker and now his form had been down when all of this appearances being substitution. Recall him back and loan him somewhere else. Need to ensure he played regularly for the next move if not that will be a waste of time again for him and he had wasted 18 months sitting on the bench.
Bristol wanted him and Leeds only got involved at the last minute. The loan was driven by their execs, not the manager. Eddie would have been better off going with the club that actually wanted him, they did well with Abraham for Chelsea, Bielsa didn’t want Eddie and won’t play him.
There’s absolutely no value in him sitting on the bench at Leeds.
Bring him back so he can play against Leeds in the FA cup, then send him somewhere they’ll appreciate him.
Our loan manager has got off to a shocker.
Ok, get him back and let him get hat-trick against them in the FA Cup tie!
That will be the right move. Call the lady back and send him where he will get playing time

Good, he’s wasting at Leeds. Now please go and buy Axel Witsel.
Surely, you could sign him on your FIFA
God I remember posting something similar whilst Witsel was at Zenit. The number of down votes I got… how times have changed
I certainly hope being in a team coached by Beisla, Eddie learnt a thing or two even with limited game time. The reality of things though is, he needs mow meaningful game time with his talents
