Auba in the middle is nice, I would have put tierney out left, and put a David Luiz as 3rd center back.

Think we’re doing 3 at the back and Saka at LWB. Might transition to a 433 later on.
I think it’s pretty clearly a 3-4-3 to start with the intention of Saka moving into the middle and Tierney filling in the attacking left back role when in possession. Unless Willian plays behind Aubameyang, for three in the middle. Or even a four with Saka as a kind of false 10. So, as I said, pretty clear.
Why no Partey?

Impact second half sub. Slide rule pass to Pepe who nutmegs Ake, crosses to Auba who buries it past Ederson. Arsenal win 2-1.

Maybe its like one of those movies where the hero of the team is like at least twice better than everyone else on the team, he still have to prove himself in some way before getting to play. He could always have a pint or two with Saliba.

Would have gone with Luiz instead of Holding and started Partey, but otherwise an interesting line up.

Yes, but I can’t remember when we last did that away from home – or not consistently anyway. We can start with City. Fingers crossed.
Results going our way so far. Draw in the Merseyside derby. L’pool hosed by VAR and Pickford should have seen red. Bad challenge on Van Dijk who went off injured. Our man Theo got the assist for the Saints equalizer vs Chelsea.

Looks a strong side, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Partey come on at some stage. We really have to improve our terrible away record in the PL against the top teams. I can see us getting a point. We certainly don’t lose yet another of these particular games. Anyway, we’ll see.

And…I know I shouldn’t be using this as a chat window, but VAR has stolen a point from Arsenal, and it’s been entirely frustrating then on
Half-time and still in it, just about. The next goal will probably be decisive. If they get another then it’s likely to be it. If we pull one back, then who knows.
