Saka: It was a perfect cross by Hector

Bukayo Saka helped Arsenal to a third Premier League win of the season scoring the opener as Mikel Arteta’s men overcame Sheffield United 2-1 at the Emirates.

The versatile 18-year-old popped up at the back post to crash home a header to finish a fine team move and after the match reflected on a dream week, which has also seen him called up to represent England during the upcoming Interlull.

Here’s what he had to say when he faced the Sky Sports Cameras…

On an amazing week…

I just thank God because all the things happening to me, I feel so blessed. The England call-up and then today with the goal, I’m a happy man.

On the club showing faith in him…

Yeah, I’m trying to do my best, anytime the boss picks me it’s for a reason; he has confidence in me. I try to repay the trust and the faith he puts in me.

On giving Hector credit for the assist…

Yeah, after I celebrated, I told Hector what a cross it was because it was perfect. It was the types of patterns we work on in training every day to build up and attack the wide areas and get crosses in. I made sure I was at the back post and luckily it came to me.

On an important win…

We give so much credit to Sheffield because they are such a good side. They made it really difficult for us today. We’re just happy to get the win because we know how tough it is to play against them.

On what he needs to keep doing…

I just try to keep working hard, do my best every day and make sure the manager knows that so he can pick me.

On whether he’ll be celebrating tonight…

I don’t really have time, obviously, I’m off on the international break early tomorrow morning.

I couldn’t watch the game today but watched clips of both goals and that cross from Hector truly was perfection.

What a lad!!!

Granit(e) hard!

I oray Hector dosent get pinched because he is really getting back to pre injury days when we were all raving about him, plus he is now a more matured player both physically and mentally on the pitch. Now Saka, what a talent we have on our hands and so, so humble. With such natural God given talent, work rate and humbleness, the sky really is the limit for this young man

Amen
