Arsenal confirm signing of exciting young striker

As first reported by James in The Athletic last week, Arsenal have completed the signing of former Fulham striker Mika Biereth.

The 18 year old tore it up for The Cottagers last season, with 21 goals and 13 assists in the Premier League South – those are Arturo Lupoli numbers folks!

He has signed his first professional contract with the Gunners, and told the official website, “It feels great and I’m really excited to be here.

“It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and I couldn’t really turn it down. I think now with the recent track record of youth going into the first team, I thought it was a great project to try and be a part of.”

With Nikolai Moller on loan with German third-tier side FC Viktoria Koln for the 2021-22 campaign, Tyreece John-Jules on loan at Blackpool, and Folarin Balogun now involved in the first team squad, there’s a gap for someone to take up the goalscoring mantle at U23 level.

If he can continue scoring at this rate, Biereth may find himself on the fringes of the first team in the years to come.

Best of luck to him.

As I live and biereth…

Eric Blair

You mika me giggle

Gunnar Eli

Ahh yes the old lupoli.. good times

SizC

We now need to support him with a Bendtner like partner.

Lol, when you say Lupoli, I think Bendtner.

Johnny 4 Hats

Hugely xenophobic of me but didn’t realise he’s an English lad as well. Adding to the spine of young lads from the UK coming through. Bonus!

Pearson

I can deal with finishing tenth with a team filled with youth. When we have team of internationals I want to challenge for the quadruple.

AlexNuggz

Welcome Mika! Man that mention of Lupoli took me back to the days when I got super excited about the prospects of Lupoli and Bendtner tearing it up in the first team.

Nick Prowse

Lupoli on old Champ Manager games was incredible.

Twatsloch

We like a Mika!

Steinn

I still haven’t gotten over the fact that Lupoli didn’t make it with us 🙁

Tapps

Not just us! 53 goals in 336 games is hardly stellar form!

SizC

@steinn. This site had me all excited about Akpom, JET and Eisfeld. The memories are still so fresh.

Zelalem…Dan Crowley

Eric Blair

Man, you gotta let that shit go, it’ll drive you lupoli

Der32

Gnabry was tearing it for our youth team too. And scored on his debut.

Are we turning into the Dortmund of the Premier League – talented kids wanting to join us because there’s a path to first team football?

AlexNuggz

And hopefully starting to profit off some of our efforts like they do, if we can get Joe Willock transfer over the line for a tidy sum 🙂

Twatsloch

Not forgetting that they also win stuff.

Charles MMM

I like the sound of that.

A M

sounds exciting, especially if you look at the number of big names who have played for dortmund

Charles MMM

We might have caught a gem in our fishing net. Fingers crossed

Perry Groves Tips

Good news indeed – he looks like quite a prospect.

Regarding the senior squad, Sky Sports are reporting that the Xhaka “transfer” to Roma appears to be off and that he may even be offered a contract extension! Could just be a cunning negotiating ploy of course, but it makes me wonder which players will actually be sold. There’s a month left so time enough, but it’s all one way traffic at the moment isn’t it.

Dave Cee

Makes a nice change from the one way traffic of talented players leaving

Perry Groves Tips

I agree, but it’s not sustainable is it. I don’t see how we can continue to bring in players, White has just arrived and there may more, yet retain anything like all the ones we have currently. We have to start selling.

Eric Blair

Bellerin, AMN, Willock, Xhaka, Nelson, Lacazette, Elneny can all stay if there’s no reasonable money on the table.

Kolasinac, WTF Willian, Portuguese right back whose name escapes me, Runnarsson, just have to go.

This would leave us requiring a back up goalie and maybe an attacking midfielder like Odegaard.

Perry Groves Tips

I don’t see that’s feasible. I think we will have to sell players from your first group even if that means letting them go for less money. As to the second group, I agree with you that they “just have to go”, but go where if nobody wants to buy them? Again, I agree we need the back up keeper and an attacking midfielder, but what’s that going to cost, another £60-£70m for the pair? If so that takes our spending to over £150m. All money out and nothing coming in. Is that sustainable? I doubt it.

Eric Blair

I would expect that at some point someone’s going to put decent money down for at least one or two from that first group. Forgot to put Nketiah in there too. The second group, I mean we may have to pay them off or let them go for free somewhere else. It has to be made clear to them they will get no game time this season so they should try bloody hard to move on. Regarding finances, if they are as tight as you say and it’s sell before buy then we wouldn’t have dropped 50m on a young… Read more »

Let’s hope the Mika isn’t Biereth of any talent………. Yeah, that’s right, I went there.

It Is What It Is

Let’s just hope it biers fruit. Got our coats, buddy.

Mine is the rainbow one that I stole from Joseph 🌈

Eric Blair

Looks like you’ve pulled!

Cygans parting

Well, any port in a storm as they say. Though, I don’t know who “they” are. But does anyone?
I’m sure we’ll be very happy together 😎

Dave Cee

If Auba keeps up his recent form he might find himself in the 1st team this season

leon

Good luck to him.
Hope his fortunes are a bit better than Lupoli…

evaristus asobara

Arturo Lupoli numbers…

What were TGSTEL’s numbers again at youth level?

Magneto

Welcome to The Arsenal, Mika. All the best!

Melvyn
