Video: An Arsenal Women mid-season check-in

After a three-and-a-half-week break, Arsenal Women return to action in the WSL away at Birmingham City. And as we enter the second half of the season, Tim Stillman takes stock on how things have panned out so far and what might be in store as Arsenal fight on four fronts.

There’s a bit of ground covered in Tim’s vlog, so here are some timestamps you might find handy:

  • 00:25 – January transfer plans
  • 02:00 – Jonas Eidevall’s frustrations on matches being postponed
  • 03:55 – a recap on the season so far, what Arsenal might need to clinch the WSL title, Champions League, Conti Cup and FA Cup progression
  • 06:35 – Leah Williamson’s return to the squad
  • 07:30 – tactics
  • 08:56 – Viv

Spot on Mr S with your three big observations.
Jordan is in the starting 11 week in, week out.
Leah is fit to return ASAP.
Viv has enough in the tank to really influence the “big” games.

Fully agree about Jordan, she to my mind is essential to our team

I really cannot understand what Jordan has done to upset the team selectors at club and national level. She used to be the first name on the teamsheet but since her ACL she is lucky to get minutes anywhere. She looks pretty fit to me and she still has that engine to give 100% for 90 minutes so why has she become a player to bring on for the final 20 minutes? This is probably what also keeps her out of the England squad.
