It is usually the case that a significant amount of academy players leave Arsenal in the summer and it appears that the same scenario will occur this time around.
Ryan Alebiosu is one player who could depart, with the right-back the subject of interest from Championship sides Blackburn Rovers, Preston North End and Bristol City, as reported by Football Insider.
Although Alebiosu’s loan spell at Crewe Alexandra was affected by injury, he still produced some encouraging performances.
The 20-year-old has made impressive progress over the past couple of years, but with Zak Swanson, Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Reuell Walters also at the club there is simply too much competition for places among young right-backs.
Centre-back Jonathan Dinzeyi could also depart despite having been heavily involved in first-team training sessions recently. The former Tottenham youngster is out of contract this summer and needs to be playing senior football.
Winger George Lewis, who also joined Arsenal in 2020, is expected to be allowed to leave after he barely featured for the U23s this season.
Midfielder Jordan McEneff, who is currently on loan at Shelbourne, could also leave permanently.
Decisions will need to be made about other players too, such as Matt Smith, with the midfielder having gained plenty of experience during loan spells in League One.

Matt Smith has won more trophies than Harry Kane!
I hope they all go on to enjoy successful careers – even if it is away from Arsenal.
… except when they play Arsenal!
