Biereth and Moller impressing in pre-season after loan moves

Two of Arsenal’s young strikers will be gaining experience out on loan in Holland this season, with Mika Biereth linking up with RKC Waalwijk in the top tier, while Nikolaj Moller has returned to Den Bosch in the second division.

While it remains to be seen how both players  will fare this season, they have made a major contribution in pre-season for their temporary clubs so far.

Biereth, for instance, has scored five goals in four games in pre-season friendlies, while Moller has also been on the scoresheet on a couple of occasions.

Biereth’s first season at Arsenal after joining from Fulham was a productive one as he frequently impressed for the U23s and also managed to get on the bench for the first-team.

Moller also made an impact in his maiden campaign at Arsenal following his arrival in 2020, but last season was more challenging for the Swedish forward, with injuries not helping his cause.

Having started the season on loan at Viktoria Koln, he moved to Den Bosch midway through the campaign after struggling to get regular game time. He fared a little better there but certainly seems capable of much more.

It is hoped that Moller will be able to make more of an impact this season, although in the long term he faces much competition for a place in the first-team squad at Arsenal, with Biereth one of the players that he is up against.

Is it true that Arsenal.com are streaming both RKC Waalwijk and Den Bosch games this season for only £19.99 a game?

Biereth is the next Alan Shearer.

This Biereth guy a coldblooded killer . I have hopes Moller becomes our tall Scandinavian forward

Good to see. Off topic but I am a little concerned about how quiet things have gone on the transfer front. Plenty of time left i know but it’s gone completely dead after the failed Rafinha, Martinez chases. I hope they aren’t settling for the squad in its current shape. In my opinion it’s still nowhere near strong enough to achieve what we want this season. Still an injury or two away from being in the same shape we finished last season.

Also concerning is reports of Parteys absence from the tour to the US

I think Tielemans and Grimaldo will get done. Tielemans has dragged on so long that it’s taken a little of the excitement out. And Grimaldo feels a bit meh but I get it.

I hope we have another special iron in the fire. But I’m not going to get my hopes up.

If those two get done, that would be six signings plus Saliba (LNS).
Five of those are full first team signings.
That would be enough for a window.

Jeremy

I’d be delighted with Tielemans. Don’t know much about Grimaldo but he seems a bit underwhelming. Would have preferred Hickey or Martinez but those ships have sailed it seems. Losing out to Manure on Martinez really stings (especially considering what a mess they are in). My friend is an Ajax season ticket holder and he is gutted to lose him. I still think we are short of an attacking player to take the burden off Saka. A couple of injuries as it stands (likely considering the WC) and we go back to bang average on the attacking front again.

Front four:
LW: Martinelli (ESR, Balogun, Nelson, Marquinhos)
RW: Saka (Odegaard, Pepe, Marquinhos, Vieira)
CF: The Jesus (Nketiah, Balogun, Martinelli, Pepe)
AM: Odegaard (Vieira, ESR, Torreira [JOKE]).

It’s touch and go. We’re probably ok going forward, another top class player wouldn’t go astray and then essentially Pepe just be shipped out.

Tielemans is a must for me and another LB. If it’s Grimaldo, so be it (TBH I know sweet FA about him).

Man Manny

Grimaldo played against us in the EL two seasons ago. Arsenal TV replayed the two legs recently. I looked out for him. Two matches is too small a sample size, but he’d certainly be an upgrade on Tavares.
He reminded me of Monreal.

A Monreal clone would be about as ideal a backup as we could possibly get.

Harding

It’s shit to lose a player to manure but they are so desperate they will pay anything, we can’t and shouldn’t compete with that especially as it looks like Ajax will take £52m off them for a player we clearly valued at £30-40m. I’m pleased we aren’t overpaying in this case. Coupled with having his previous manager I think its a difficult one for us.

Nainsley Aitland Miles

I’m happy with our 8 forwards; Jesus, Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Smith-Rowe, Nketiah, Vieira, Pepe.

That’s a pretty strong group with plenty of options.

Balogun will leave on loan and I’d be surprised if Nelson has a future with us.

StuArse

Only position I am really worried about now is the base of midfield without Partey. I wonder if we don’t get a decent bid for Torreira if he’ll stay? Otherwise I can only see new signings if we shift a few players first. I therefore wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t see anything until the last few days of the window.
