Arsenal have confirmed the 27-man squad that has travelled to Dubai for a warm-weather training camp and friendlies with Lyon and AC Milan.
Alongside familiar first team stars not involved in the World Cup, there are a host of academy youngsters with squad numbers running into the 90s.
Of note is the inclusion of Emile Smith Rowe who is stepping up his return to fitness following groin surgery in October. He’s been rehabbing in the United Arab Emirates and will be hoping to get some minutes under his belt ahead of a Premier League return.
As expected, Ben White has not travelled. The defender left England’s World Cup camp for personal reasons and will remain in the UK for the time being.
At the time of writing, Bukayo Saka, Aaron Ramsdale, Takehiro Tomiyasu, William Saliba, Gabriel Martinelli and Granit Xhaka remain on duty in Qatar.
We imagine Thomas Partey and Matt Turner, now that they have exited the competition, will be afforded some time off but could well join up with Arsenal before they return from Dubai.
After confirmation of his knee injury, Gabriel Jesus is facing a spell on the sidelines. Worryingly, it is suggested he may need surgery.

Is there any official confirmation yet that Jesus needs surgery?
No.
If it’s really true, I think we’d have read about somewhere else! Fingers crossed that it was just stupid clickbait!
Fingers, toes, balls, everything is crossed.
For the love of god do not cross that last one. Hell, that might be how ESR got himself into trouble in the first place
Flaps too!
Doesn’t Ethan Nwaneri have to go to school
he’s on holiday break!
The Arsenal first team squad depth is not good enough. We need to do something in the January market to sustain our position in the league especially with the injury to Jesus.
Obvious.
You’re observation skills, are amazing
The young ‘uns definitely have some great sounding names. Let’s hope this is the start of something big for them. COYG
Invite Tielemens and Douglas Luiz to watch and then might as well prepare the pre contract agreements.
Douglas Luis signed a long term contract recently
He can still come see what he’s missed
