The drop-off that Tim mentions in the last period of the game, co-incided with Leah Williamson going off. Whilst Rafaelle is probably a better pure defender, Leah gives Arsenal something extra, launching attacks, evidenced by the goal, where also Blackstenius turned up on the right, Foord went central and Meidema went to the back post, the latter two swapping positions in the build-up. However the central defence of Rafaelle and Wubben-Moy never seemed threatened. Agree with all of that Mr Collibosher, except that Viv is more effective deployed in midfield IMO. She was sensational last night. Stina too!
For sure it’s absolutely brilliant to have Leah & Rafa back!
Replacing Little is not easy. I don’t think even Leah would do better than Frida. To offset her absence we need to tweak how our midfield operates – this is further worsened by Beth’s injury.
I doubt that Stina can play wide. That would hurt both the team and the player.
