Goal scorer Martin Odegaard and man of the match Aaron Ramsdale were the men chosen to face the Sky Sports cameras after Arsenal’s 2-0 win at Sp*rs. Here’s what the duo had to say…
On how it feels to win a first north London derby since 2014…
MO: It’s about time. It feels amazing. We remember what happened here last year and we wanted a better game, to show a better side and how much we’ve improved. I think we’ve done that today. We all enjoyed the game.
On how much Arsenal controlled first half…
AR: Yeah, totally. We deserved the two goals and maybe deserved more. We played the way we wanted to play the whole first half and we got the deserved lead.
On his goal and celebration…
MO: It’s just something we talk about inside the team; basketball. That’s why we did it. Rambo tells me to shoot all the time, so finally I did and you see what happens.
On a series of big saves…
AR: It’s what I’m there to do. The manager also mentioned that in quite a few of the last north London derbies we’ve not kept a clean sheet, especially since he’s been in charge. I think that might have spurred me on a little bit.
On an incident at the end…
AR: The Sp*rs fans were giving me some throughout the second half, I give ‘em some back which, to the few people I did do it to, was probably well-greeted, sportsmanship like. And then a fan jumped over [the hoardings] and give me a punch in the back. That’s what happened. It’s a shame because it’s just a game of football at the end of the day. Everyone, both sets of players, tried to bring me away. Thankfully, nothing actually happened too drastically but it leaves a sour taste. I’m sure we’ll enjoy it when we go back in the dressing room.
On extending the lead at the top of the table to eight points…
MO: We’re in a good position, there’s no doubt about that. Now we have to stay humble, keep working hard. We can still improve a lot of things, you can see today the difference between the first and the second half, so we have things to improve and have to keep going and pushing.
Fuck spurs
Also, fuck that guy who kicked Ramsdale. Twat
I thought it was hilarious..my 6 year old daughter would’ve got more force in that kick
COYG!
MO is superb!
shame spurs didn’t show up to fight until after the final whistle; really would have liked to see a match today
You know, I was one of those who wasn’t fully in support of signing this two. But I raise my hand and say fuck my opinions, I clearly know FA.
I was IN LOVE with Fabregas and had found it hard to get attached to players since he left… but with this crop of boys I am starting to get attached again.
Ode as captain was a wonderful and perfect choice.
Ødegaard is just so fucking good. Still feels like we robbed Madrid for the price we paid
MØ > MÖ
Keep humble, keep working. Keep expectations low and we have a better chance of beating them.
The kid who jumped in and punched Rambo should be banned along with his parents.
What if his parents are his cousins?
ffs, its not stoke
Did you see those spindly legs? Definitely not Orch legs. Some form of inbreeding caused that. Poor lad.
That kid has won the same number of trophies as Harry Kane.
Fuck em
Happy day
lets remember Odegaard AND Ramsdale were less than 100 million euros combined
Less than one Mudryk
Sprs have to respect the referee!
I f***ING love Martin Odegaard!
More fight from that supporter than the whole spurs team
When I saw the interview, and Odegaard was asked what it meant to be eight points up, I wished he had answered “better than seven, not as good as nine.” Because that’s the right approach for the next 20 matches.
You can see why he’s the captain, he has that aura of leadership and winning about him, people will follow him.
We beat 11 limp cocks perched on a ball. The lily livered cunts .
I hope Odegaard is okay! He looks sickly in that photo, he looks a little “green in the gills.”
