Arsenal have recalled Omar Rekik from his loan at Sparta Rotterdam, according to VI.nl.
The 21-year-old moved to Holland in the summer to gain further experience of senior football but has played only 30 minutes in total.
Capped three times by Tunisia before this season, Rekik had hoped regular game time would secure him a slot in his country’s World Cup squad.
Unsurprisingly, given the way he has been ignored by Sparta, he didn’t get the nod.
It’s expected that Rekik, who joined Arsenal from Hertha Berlin in 2021, will be sent out on another loan for the rest of the campaign.

Maybe Reiss to Feyenoord last season, but given he’s had a short, relatively successful spell back in our 1st team sandwiched between two spells of injury, it’s hard to judge.
His time in Rotterdam was pretty decent – 4 goals and 7 assists in 32 games, despite only averaging 49 minutes per game.
Very unfortunate – a waste of a potentially useful loan development spell. Hopefully, there will still be an opportunity to find something else (that works this time).

He has played in midfield as a 6 forour 21s (or 23s as it was last season) he was also the player to carry the ball out when playing at the back.
Tbf we have a lot of good ball playing CBs now, surely one of them would be better at DM than Sambi if push comes to shove
