Welcome to a brand new episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast, the number one podcast about Arsenal Women.
In this impromptu episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast, Tim goes solo! Tim goes over a magical night at Emirates Stadium in which the Gunners qualified for their first Champions League semi-final in 10 years with a 2-0 win over Bayern Munich. Tim talks about the impact of that Conti Cup Final win over Chelsea earlier in the month, why a trophy and a UWCL semi-final were such big priorities this season, as well as a bit of a tactical ramble on how Arsenal were able to overcome Bayern, with some of Jonas Eidevall’s pre and post-match musings thrown in for good measure.

Well done
Grauen.
Another Arsenal vs Chelsea final coming up?
This time for the Champions League!
Lyon was robbed by that ridiculous VAR PK decision in the last minute of overtime. Absurd call, IMO. Chelsea did not deserve to move on,
They probably didn’t but they have!
The standards of officiating must improve at the same rate as the rest of the women’s game to avoid looking like a farce.
Hardly a clear and obvious error, was it?
Please God no. I am sick of the sight of that class-free zone of a club.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Wolfsburg first.
Thanks for the podcast, I needed that! We are now so physical, we used to get bullied and we’ve turned a weakness into a strength. Tenacity is another quality we now have in abundance, too. We coped brilliantly without Kim Little and played really intelligently but still expended more energy than we would have if she had been on, I feel. Really need an update on her fitness when you get one, Tim! Bayern had no answer to our tactical plan so big props to Jonas. Noëlle Maritz deserves the plaudits. I loved her anyway but I had her pegged… Read more »
Great points you make, absolutely spot on 👍
and l particularly agree with you about Maritz, l said to my friend at the game how much work she was putting in and how much l like her. Laura is excellent too so its a good thing to have the 2 of them to choose from although l do feel Laura has been slightly off recently 🤔
I absolutely agree with you Tim on most of that. l was there and yes the second that ball came across l knew it would be a goal. I never actually felt we would lose this q final even after the loss in germany, we were the better team there and definitely the better team on Wednesday night.
COYG’S 💪
You’re on a bit of a roll with the blog/podcast titles, Tim…
