The Interlull is coming to a close so this is the last one of these half-hearted round-ups for a while. Hallelujah!
Strap in, we’ll start by throwing some Seaman at you…

David Seaman on Aaron Ramsdale’s situation…
“If he [Ramsdale] is not playing [for Arsenal], it’s going to affect his [England] chances. If I’m right, he’s going to be playing this weekend because Raya can’t play as he’s on loan from Brentford. Aaron will come in, he’ll get a chance and then I think after that, that’s then we’ll see what is really going to happen. If Aaron goes in at the weekend and then he’s left out for the next game, then we know who Mikel’s number one is. He’s a top-class goalkeeper, there’s no doubt about that. Mikel’s got a job keeping two really good goalkeepers very happy. Going into next summer, where Aaron is really pushing to become England goalkeeper, he needs to be playing.

Kai Havertz on chatting with Declan Rice before joining Arsenal…
Before I joined, I spoke a lot with Declan Rice as well, who I know through Mason Mount. For me it was very easy to come into the team because there are so many young players. I’ve played against a lot of them already so I know them from the pitch, and I have found it easy to make friends here. Hopefully, it will continue like this.

Joao Santos, agent of Jorginho, on the Italian’s future…
Everything is at a standstill. We’ll think about it after February. However, the priority remains Arsenal.

William Gallas on William Saliba imposing himself at international level…
William Saliba can be one of the best defenders in the world. The problem he has in the France team is that other players have played under Deschamps for longer. Players like Ibrahima Konate and Dayot Upamecano, they were there before him, so William Saliba needs to be patient and when he gets an opportunity to start for France, he has to take it. Sometimes players that are given the opportunity by Deschamps in the starting 11 don’t grab it. I think that is why Saliba is behind the players that I mentioned. He needs to show everyone how good he is in a French shirt. When he does that, the conversation about him (playing for France) is finished. The debate about who will play for France will disappear because Saliba can establish himself as France’s best defender. He can be the first-choice centre-back of Didier Deschamps.

Pascal Cygan on his status as an Arsenal Invincible…
I think I played 24 games that season, 18 in the league and six in other competitions. Obviously, I’m very proud that my name will forever remain among the Invincible Gunners. Every time a team gets close to repeating it, like Liverpool did a few years ago but especially Manchester City recently, the press, whatever it may be, talks about our record again. And besides that, every time this happens I am regularly questioned by the French press. It’s an honour for me.

William Saliba, during a game identifying former Gunners, reacts to a picture of Philippe Senderos…
It is the coach of Everton?

How well can William Saliba identify Arsenal players throughout the years? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/9UF3DIWa1z

Pushing to become England’s keeper? He’s clearly better than Pickford but that has never bothered any pundit but when it comes to Arsenal even pundits with a clear bias against us show the most concern.
Ouch town – Population: Phillip Senderos.
Who?
The coach of Everton.
I’m glad this bullshit is over for now. Bring on the real football!
Stop. Interviewing. William. Gallas.
The cry baby captain, still irks me we made him captain and gave him the number 10 shirt!
I absolutely love Wenger but I never understood why he made Gallas our captain.
Or getting rid of Toure to keep Gallas
Gallas was a goal-scoring CB. He’s done it at Marseille and Chelsea. I remember of some scrappy goals that gave the three points.
Maybe that why he got the number 10 shirt, he should have been playing further up the pitch.
Like a reverse Havertz?
Inverted Havertz.
no one:
William Gallas: Saliba can be one of the best defenders in the world
still no one:
literally everyone knows that man, and actually he already is
Interlull final match: I thought Martinelli was probably the bext player on the pitch for Brazil against Argentina (or maybe McAllister), in a match full of nastiness, diving, and generally bringing the game into disrepute a lot more than anything Arteta has ever said. Can any team match Martinez, Romero, Otamendi, and especially De Paul for the least likeable team? Yes, I know Brazil has its share, but no one since the heyday of his club coach, Simeone, has ever approached the crap that De Paul does. I swear that when he was bleeding, I thought he must have brought… Read more »
George……. If you saw the match, did Jesus look fit?
Very fit.
Cud Willie be playing “average”, cause Mikel told him to!😏
Thanks for not posting the Havertz comments from Gallas!
It’s not the first time Saliba has problem guessing Arsenal players.
Here he guessed that a (baby version of) Gabi the Jesus was some unidentified guy from Aston Villa:-)
