Sean

There’s always something isn’t there

Cranky Colin

So fucking true

Sean

Doesn’t matter how strong our squad may appear one given week. Our default position in that regard seems to be “down to the bare bones when it matters most”. I mean I’ll drop the negativity and get into things once kick off gets underway, but fuck me.

Nainsley Aitland Miles

To be fair they’re missing Isak, Tonali, Botman, and Barnes.

Sean

Difference is I honestly don’t think that affects their approach too much. Among their best players, but I wouldn’t call them “pillars” in the same way as who we have missing. They can be their usual hard running and physical selves with those absentees. Whereas you take Jesus, Odegaard and (probably) Partey out of the side, and we’re a significantly less effective team. Hoping to be proven wrong here, but not feeling great about this one (probably why I can’t tear myself away from the arseblognews comments 😩).

Ash

Havertz looked good and strong in this game. He is on the up, and very soon would be scoring for fun

Ebo

Don’t feel like being fair today.

Uzesgooner

What are you going on about? Looks like a good team….one of us will look a twat at full time ! 🤣

ZenithReptile

I smell a clean sheet

Cranky Colin

Bench looking lighter and lighter.
😳

Ealing

And shorter

Ebo

Cedric injury time winner anyone? No? No one?

Man Manny

This will be a tough game to navigate.
If this team can nick the three points here, we’ll take some stopping.

Bleeding gums murphy

I think we are relying on some magic from saka or martinelli today. I can see us getting beating starting havertz Jorginho and nketia. Don’t think you can win at Newcastle these days with three players who would not make there starting 11. Anyway here’s hoping coyg

89 again

They would make their starting 11 given the injuries they have. A section of their fanbase would probably moan about it too.

Bleeding gums murphy

Nketia would start before Wilson 😂😂😂

89 again

Given, thats the one of 3 where there is an argument … care to comment on the other 2?

Bleeding gums murphy

The score line is the comment. Wake the Fuck up.

Abi

what’s wrong with øde?!

TeeCee

Not sure.
The medical team is having trouble finding a druid to cast the runes for an accurate diagnosis.

Up4GrabsNow!

Today would be a great day for one Kai Havertz to step up.

Paul

Don’t hold your breath mate.

John

I agree with both of you

Kojo

Hope you’ve all seen Kudus and Doku, what on earth did we see in Harvest? Time will tell but he is increasingly looking like one of the most expensive 65mil buys,,, hope he comes good over though, for the time being, he is absolute……..

Paul

Hopefully we will reap the rewards. 🙂

Mesut Ö’Neill

But it is his time of the year

Daveod

This is going to need some 1990’s 1-0 to the arsenal style of play

Geir

Why can’t they just tell us what’s wrong? We’re the ones paying for this shit.

I miss santi cazorla

Trossard should have started in place of nketiah

Sean

No no, let’s not speak too soon. I think Eddie deserves a chance away from home against a couple of highly physical centre backs, it’s something we’ve never seen play out before and… oh shit.

Fezec

You had me in the first half there

Ebo

because tiny Trossard is likely to do super well against highly physical centre backs…

I love me some Tross but against Newcastle away he’s not the answer at CF

SLC Gooner

Trossard’s recent record starting has not been great. He’s been much more impactful as a sub.

For some weird reason, Leandro Twinklefeet never seems to do well when he starts games.

Paul

4 starters injured is difficult but COYG!

Redbaron

Who plays the attacking mid? Kai or Rice?

Cygan’sbaldspot

Both obviously

Paul

How dare you ask a question!! 🙂

Greg in Seattle

That was my first question. Expecting a lack of creativity, a front line starved of service, and a lot of Gabriel and Saliba standing on the ball waiting for someone to flash open. Hoping for better but jeez. I’d have put in Viera for Jorginho and let Rice sit deep, I think.

Snc

Alright Kai, that no. 10 position is urs today. U can do this. NUFC will start pressuring from the start. No margin for error. Lets go boys. Coyg.

Chris

Would have liked to see Trossard instead of Havertz, but I feel okay with it. This feels more like a 4-2-3-1 defensive shape for Newcastle.

But what’s up with Martin?

VillageGunner

Who exactly is supposed to take on the Odegaard role in this starting lineup?

SirL

Why have two ‘keepers on the bench?

Goldman Sack

Don’t like the look of having 2 GKs on the bench, this is not an International match.

Nainsley Aitland Miles

Odegaard late withdrawal, that’s why Hein is on the bench. We always travel to away games with 3 keepers.

pahtotheworld

Unless something happened last minute. I don’t understand naming 7 outfield subs

Rjs802

Don’t have any explanation on what’s wrong with him, but had to play Odegaard as a sub midweek. Just plain stupid. Havertz again? Hasn’t MA done this before (Willian)? Seriously someone give me some insight into his team selection. BTW I think he has totally ruined Ramsdale.

EarlCourt

Being a fan doesn’t mean been gullible.
You will be downvoted here because you state the obvious.
If this ship doesn’t right before December, we will be staring at 6th place finish. The vibe with the team doesn’t just feels right…. perhaps there’s a senior player rebellion going on here..
Perhaps Odegaardd’is finally calling arteta on his bullshit.
We replaced a well loved keeper with someone that flap at crosses.
.
Thank God for Rice…

He’s got no hair but we don’t care...

Havertz, again. Seriously?
That’s us a man down then.

89 again

Such insight, such wit.

He’s got no hair but we don’t care...

Thank you kindly sir.

Teryima Adi

COYG!!!!!

FMT

Like some invisible hand is toying with us. “You beat Sheffield last week without your best guys, beat Newcastle this week without your best.”

All the best to us 😬

Scrubbychubby

Well this comment section is a bundle of joy, isn’t it? How about watching the match for a while first before writing it off?

FMT

We only need to be mentally tough today, and we’ll be fine

Naked Cygan

Havertz must come off at halftime. Next foul and the crowd are going to influence the ref to send him off. Arteta has to take him off.

EarlCourt

The only thing impressive about the squad this season is our rearguard. Average in other areas

He’s got no hair but we don’t care...

Yep, definitely our No1.
Looking forward to Arteta picking the teachers pet again in the next game.

Vieiraera

I have never been prouder of this team!! We got robbed.

Optimist

That was fucking shit. I hate them barcodes and their demented fans more than anyone else

mrugunner

Ohh how we’ve regressed this season. Our play is so boring. No way we can be top 2 this season like that. Arteta once more showing he aint progressing

Ozzie

I love Ben White, but that goal is totally his fault.
