Arsenal take on Liverpool at Anfield, looking for three points there for the first time since 2012.
Here are the official line-ups.
Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Tsimikas, Szoboszlai, Endo, Jones, Salah, Gakpo, Diaz
Subs: Kelleher, Gomez, Nunez, Elliot, Gravenberch, Clark, McConnell, Quansah, Bradley
Arsenal: Raya, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Rice, Havertz, Odegaard, Martinelli, Saka, Jesus
Subs: Ramsdale, Cedric, Kiwior, Jorginho, Elneny, Smith Rowe, Trossard, Nketiah, Nelson
Come on you gunners. We can beat these.
Sorry. But let’s fuck this whole Anfield narrative.
We are better than them. I don’t care who’s in the stands. For all I care they can have 300 Liverpool-loving Spartans in the crowd. They can have 100,000 old skool Black Friday shoppers. They can have 1,000,000 angry Goldbridge’s after another United loss.
Look at their XI and then look at ours.
WE ARE BETTER THAN THEM.
Time to prove it.
COYG!!!
I like where your heart is but the table doesn’t lie at this point in the season. These are closely matched squads and fine margins will decide which way the points go today.
Surely that’s 100,000 old skool Black Friday shoplifters?
As expected. Not too much on our bench but I smell a smith rowe goal tonight!! COYG
Actually our bench looks considerably stronger and more experienced compared to Liverpool’s.
We have trossard nelson nketiah jorginho kiwior and ramsdale on the bench who could all be the starters. That’s as good as it gets.
Apart from Nunez, liverpool’s bench is very light.
Cedric, El-Neny and Smith Rowe have been “starters” for much of their careers as well, so there is no shortage of experience and variety. Certainly there is tactical flexibility with these options. The one nit I would pick is I’m not sure we have anybody on the bench who we can rely on to be a difference maker in the final third, with the possible exception of Trossard. That’s an area where our squad needs to grow further. For Liverpool, I don’t know who Clark, McConnel and Bradley are. They are probably there to make up the numbers. Their other… Read more »
COYG!! Smash the muggers at their place! Screaming Blue Messiahs reference ; )
Shame that Tomi is injured: I don’t think that this is a game for Zinchenko.
I predict another 2-2 draw.
They’re missing Robertson at left-back so fair game if you look at it that way.
A draw may not be a bad result in hindsight, but looking at their midfield, the game is there to be won for Arsenal.
He’s going to be fine. People have this perception that he is frail defensively, but that’s not accurate. He’s no Tomiyasu, but when he is fresh and switched on he’s also no pushover. His issue is more often overconfidence or lack of concentration, whichever it is, when he does win it back in his own third. Then he wants to play the perfect pass even when it’s not on and he either loses it or misplays the pass. That’s been more of an issue than his ability to defend 1 v 1, or win headers (he’s sneaky good in the… Read more »
Yeah, ok, he stunk it up against Salah there. His only saving grace is that that was Salah.
I predict he will have the game of his life.
I’m afraid this may not be a zinchenko game
Zinchenko to score the winner
Zinny vs Trent
Martenelli vs Salah
One heck of fight in that flank
Also zinchencko gives us better control of the midfield and technical control.
Looks like we’re back to having a clear “first 11”, at least with Tomi and Partey injured. Let’s dew zis!!
Havertz for the win
Lets hope ref doesnt allow that thug Konate to kick our players but I dont have much hope of sensible officisting at Anfield
I see me very happy after this match. Nothing less than 3 points to the Arsenal. Let’s win this , COYG.
I think the game will be decided on how well Odegard scores from the opportunities he would get.
Spot on.
Odegaard and Havertz.
I think it will be decided by how well he helps us keep the ball against the counterpress. This type of game has been difficult for him in the past, so let’s hope he’s right in this one. Liverpool will try to bully him out of it, but he has to show he can thrive under that pressure.
Just for once I’d love us to convincingly beat these bin-dippers, but have a nasty feeling the ref/var will play a frustrating part in proceedings!!! Anyway, here is hoping for three points!!
This game will be determined by who can impose themselves better. Arsenal will want to control the game in their half, as usual, press them opportunistically in their final third and then retreat into a deep block once they get into our half. Liverpool will want to cause high turnovers and look for an early release after they win possession from us. Technical security will be paramount. If we turn the ball over, it plays into their hands. They will make this into a basketball game if they can, and if they do, they will probably win. So Arsenal’s job… Read more »
thank fuck jota still out, i hate that little cheat
Well I down voted the negative comments regarding zinchenko but, to be fair, they are spot on!!!
Time to take zinchenko and Martinelli off and bring on kiwor and tross
Diaz is a filthy little cnut. non stop after the ball is gone
now he’s gonna cry on the bench. what an annoying little cnut.
he’s a player i’m mad we didn’t buy- would be a monster in our system and i hate that he’s good.
