Nwaneri and Cozier-Duberry impress again for Arsenal U21s

Arsenal U21s were looking to return to winning ways when they faced Chelsea away last night and they managed to do just that as they secured a 4-2 win at Kingsmeadow.

Ethan Nwaneri, despite missing a penalty and another excellent chance, produced a hugely impressive overall display, the highlight of which was undoubtedly his goal in the 64th minute as he managed to get past the Chelsea defence with his excellent technique before finishing well.

Taylor Foran, James Sweet and Nathan Butler-Oyedeji also managed to get on the scoresheet as Arsenal bounced back from their defeat to West Bromwich Albion earlier in the week.

Amario Cozier-Duberry also caught the eye again, with the winger starting off in his usual position on the right flank before switching to the left following the introduction of Ismeal Kabia.

From the latter position Cozier-Duberry helped to create Arsenal’s fourth goal, which was scored by Butler-Oyedeji.

Karl Hein, who is part of the first-team squad, featured in goal and made some outstanding saves. The Estonia international surely needs to be playing senior football of some description next season, whether that is out on loan from Arsenal or following a permanent move elsewhere.

Brilliant stuff, Jeorge. Seen a post from a Chelsea fan praising Ethan Nwaneri. That says a lot.

Hopefully, the lad is able to manage these huge expectations and fulfil his potential. That would be a big win for the Academy, the club at large, and of course, Ethan and his family.

Is there a rule where 2-3 senior players can play in these games or is that for friendly games only? With all these big gaps in our fixture list we should set up some friendly games for players like ESR, Timber, Nelson, Cedric, Tomi, and some other players to keep them sharp and ready.

Perhaps the injured (Timber), for the others, If you want to destroy their confidence, there is no better way.
