Welcome to a brand new episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast, the number one podcast about Arsenal Women.
On this episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast, Tim is joined by Max Radwan from the Pot Shot Podcast to discuss Arsenal’s Conti Cup Final win over Chelsea. Tim and Max talk about the line up choices, the performances of Victoria Pelova and Emily Fox, match winning moments from Manu Zinsberger and Stina Blackstenius, Emma Hayes’ comments about Jonas Eidevall post-match, the celebratory scenes between the players and supporters and whether this victory can be a launchpad for a better campaign next season.

This was lovely. I’d love to be able to listen to a podcast each week along the lines of the AV post-match podcast.
Totally agree with Suzy Wrack’s take. The argument about the ball is just the usual silliness you get in matches, but Hayes’ comments afterwards were calculated. She should be disciplined for the shove on JE.
I think JE was a little lucky – if Russo had not been ill, Stina wouldn’t have started. Not just because she scored but her work in exhausting the defence, drawing mistakes from Hampton, was crucial.
WE ARE CONTI CUP CHAMPIONS! AGAIN!!!!
Yes we want to do something a little ‘Arsecast Extra’ and have a pod after each game. Would like a regular guest to do that with, something we are looking into.
Yay! 🤸
I think it would be the best use of the last few games to really embed our philosophy. JE tried to do too much too soon. I applaud ambition, genuinely, but he should have been a bit more patient and more pragmatic – less wedded to his big idea in the circumstances in which we found ourselves.
I wouldn’t blame Stina for leaving, though I really hope she decides to give us another couple of years.
Thanks to Max as well.
Was “failure to launch” from me?
Yes it was 🙂
👍
Tim’s script writer! 🙂
Stina will have to think carefully about whether this is what she wants to stay or leave, an environment like Arsenal she won’t find at a club anytime soon, and it will also depend on what the club has to offer, because she is a player decisive, she and Russo can very well play together, not always, but to also spare them, there is a way to make that balance.
Yes i think whether or not she stays will come down to what other offers she gets. I think she’d need to be a guaranteed starter at a good club. United have been interested in her before and need a CF, but i think they are looking at Ewa Pajor. She is not a start every game player at Arsenal but she gets a lot of minutes and in big games too, I hope she is persuaded, i think she’s a really valuable player.
Arsenal will have to offer an excellent offer and what plans they will have for her in the future, if she prefers not to stay we will understand and I hope she is in a top team, she deserves no less.

Re spat after the match, “male aggression” was obviously trying to add a sexism accusations. However, what I saw was “female violence” as she was the one who pushed Jonas.
