Brazil have selected Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes for their upcoming Copa America campaign in the United States.
The nine-time winners have been drawn against Colombia, Paraguay and Costa Rice in Group D and will kick-off against the latter at KSE’s SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on 24 June.
Should the Seleção progress to the final, which they’ve done on 7 of the last 11 occasions, the Arsenal duo will be kept busy until mid-July. They will then be granted three weeks off, so there’s a chance they won’t be involved in pre-season training until very late.

This will be the second major tournament for Martinelli, who was previously selected for the World Cup, and a first for ‘Big’ Gabi.
For the moment (changes can be made until June), Gabriel Jesus has not been selected. While he’ll no doubt be disappointed by that, it’s possible a conversation has already been had about his availability.
The player has hinted that he may need to undergo a procedure on his dicky knee as he continues to struggle with the fallout of the injury sustained in Qatar.
Brazilian Premier League players called up for the Copa America just now:
No room for Casemiro, Richarlison or Gabriel Jesus.– Alison
– Ederson
– Gabriel Magalhães
– Andreas Pereira
– Bruno Guimarães
– Paquetá
– João Gomes
– Douglas Luiz

I guess the first choice Brazilian striker is not the last choice. The first shall be last…congrats to big Gabi
Good for Martinelli. Thought his form for us this season would work against him.
Hope Big Gabi has a GREAT tournament. The disrespect I see from many Brazilians for him is baffling, to say the least!
Reason?
Can’t exactly say why. But someone hinted that it’s because he didn’t play for or come from any of the academies of the big clubs in Brazil.
Then I also think the fact he was absent from the last internationals got seen as “putting club first over country”, especially because of the narrative peddled by the media. I have seen too many distasteful posts about him from Brazilians, it’s really weird
Think he did not dye his hair to match Neymar. I am glad he did not. Doesn’t need to suck up to that guy.
Didn’t he even say that he might have to prioritise Arsenal over his national team this summer and do the surgery then? Seems harsh to suggest in that case they turned his back on him, maybe they’ve just been informed about it?
Maybe one day both Arsenal and Brazil can have their own personal Jesus.
It’s Allensport. He tends to be sensational with his writing.
No 1st choice striker Richarlison eh? The unlikable pricks’s post NLD tweet doesn’t seem to have aged well.
No pigeon dance this time.
He’s injured. Calf.
Does having a face like a small bird count as an injury?
Perma injured in the head….
Has a mug like ‘Millhouse’ from the Simpsons
Jeez, really? That headline? “turns back on Jesus”? GJ already said he’d be having surgery once the season finished. Why have to go AFTV on us?
Ok boomer
This will be really good for Martinelli. I’m happy for him and a little surprised he got in. He needs to refresh and rebuild himself and a little time away from London will do him good.
I don’t like the player but Richarlison has an insane goals record for Brazil lately. Surprised he wasn’t selected. I guess it is the way of the Tottenham.
Best of luck to our Gabis
Richarlison has an injury. A serious case of ‘douchebagitis’, which rules him out of most big games.
Can’t compete in big games? Richarlison is just cut out for sp*rs, isn’t he?
