Arsenal Women Arsecast 99: Arsenal 4-0 Aston Villa

Welcome to a brand new episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast, the number one podcast about Arsenal Women.

In this episode of the Arsenal Women Arsecast, Tim and Jamie analyse Sunday’s 4-0 victory over Aston Villa. They discuss the new midfield double pivot of Cooney-Cross and Mariona and how it worked, as well as what it says about how Kim Little is being managed this season. They discuss Arsenal’s dominant first half, how Arsenal lost a little control in the first 20 minutes of the second half before wresting it back, Slegers’ willingness to make half-time changes and the form of Lessi Russo and Stina Blackstenius. In the second half, Tim and Jamie take listener questions on the midfield, how the January transfer market might work with an interim manager still in charge and they discuss Slegers’ suitability as a permanent candidate.

Enjoyed the cast, thank you. Glad Jamie is on board on a regular basis. Agree with the McCabe verdict, behaviour I find annoying and frustrating because of the 20 odd players in the squad why does she have a monopoly on pointless fouls and on pitch discipline?
I join Jamie on congratulating Tim for his award. She said it perfectly and many of us agree. Keep it going Tim and thank you.

Fun Gunner

Call me crazy, but I hope we don’t go in for Keira Walsh. No shade on her as a player, but she doesn’t give us anything we are lacking in terms of her strengths. A more physical player who can play as a lone 6 now and again, yes. Training up one of our players to be that DM, yes. But we don’t need to pay over the odds for KW. The money would be better spent elsewhere, and we need the squad space for KCC.
