Following a whistlestop tour of several big European clubs, Sverre Nypan has decided to stay put at Rosenborg for the time being.
That’s according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein who reported last week that Arsenal had held discussions with the 18-year-old attacking midfielder.
More approaches are expected to be made to the Norway under-21 international ahead of the summer, when he is more likely to move.

All depends who the targets actually are and when release clauses come into affect. I’d wager if Leipzig thought they could get a better deal for Sesko now than the summer, they’d sell I think. Gyokeres appears to have a release clause, so Sporting’s view is irrelevant. Lille might be resolved to keep David and lose him on a free, or David might have already signed pre-contract terms somewhere. Juve probably won’t deal on Vhalovic while they’re still in the CL. If Barca are seriously considering Rashford, then there’s something there still. He’s had a string of tossers managing him at a toxic club. A positive atmosphere might ignite him again.

Calm down mate. This would have been a signing for the future, and the young man has clearly decided that staying in Norway is the right thing for him. It’s not like he’s chosen someone ahead of us, these things happen.
Jason ayto? More like Jason potato with the lack of anything he’s done regarding signings or loan moves for the men’s side of the club since the summer. Hoping we have an actual sporting director coming in who will actually do something, because right now we have wasted at least 2 windows.

I feel like this season will be defined by this transfer window. A few poor results and we could drop out of the top 4. This could become evident if we suffer another injury to one of our forwards. They cannot play every 3 days at this level, especially a 17 year old, even though he is an absolute star. Havertz must be nearing the red zone and then we’re pretty much done for.
I can think of a few other things that will define this season to be honest.
The consequence of being a top top team again is that it’s a lot harder to find players that can improve us. Have to say though, Nypan deciding to stay reminds me a bit of a young Mbappe deciding to stay at Monaco instead of joining us.
I don’t see anyone coming in and to be honest I’m not particularly bothered about that – teams want to keep hold of their best players. Watkins is 29 and doesn’t represent value and Tel for £50 million? Really? Wait until the summer and get your players then…
I know I am replying to myself but before the story came out had anyone ever heard of “Tel”?
How many times should we waiting until the summer for? We’ll end up having issues in other positions next season and the season after. We’ll be nearly there every season at that rate.
Maybe this kid goes on to become a star in the future, maybe we go back in for him in the summer, who knows? The fact is, he isn’t the striker or wide forward we absolutely need RIGHT NOW, and that is what matters.
Chasing a guy who plays CAM when you need LWF/RWF/CF is pretty crazy to me.
