Arsene Wenger says he’s been impressed by Cardiff City since their summer promotion, and says his team won’t be taking the threat they pose lightly.
The Gunners go looking for their third win a week when they visit Wales today, and after taking a late point off champions Man Utd last weekend, Malky Mackay’s men will be confident of causing an upset.
“I’m impressed with them I must say. They beat Man City at home and when they played against Man United at home just last Sunday, if you look at the numbers, their possession was 50:50. That means it was not a coincidence that it was a draw. The conclusion of the game was a fair result.”
“They look like they can find the resources to turn up and find something special to turn these games their way. In the Premier League at the moment, it looks to be difficult to win everywhere.
“We are in a position where every game will be now. We played Southampton last Saturday and that was a very tough test. This is another one, in a different setting, but with similarities to Southampton.
“We know, because of the results they have made at home, that it will demand a top-level performance at Cardiff on Saturday.”
The game is also a homecoming for Aaron Ramsey, but Wenger says he’s got no worries that he’ll be affected by the occasion.
“I think the first time he went back there in the cup he was not comfortable with the situation,” he said. “It was too much for him. Now he is much more experienced.
“At Swansea, the first time it affected him, now he takes that in a more positive way. He wanted to do so well that he missed a lot of passes. Every time he has gone back to Wales since then he has done well.

0-2. Ramsey and Wilshere.
COYG!
Ramsey will score today, I can sense it it my testicles.
#mutedcelebration time!
Not sure Aaron will celebrate if he scores today. But then, he might not score.
But if he did, and if it is scorcher, he can should still celebrate…but modestly.
Anyway its gonna be a very good game and if the attacking lads, Aaron included, really step up, we gonna win this game well.
While it is not a big deal, if at all he scores, I hope he does not celebrate, irrespective of the reception he gets.
I dont see why he would get a bad reception, they loved it when he went back on loan there and it’s not like he RVP’ed or Nasri’ed his way out.
They all love him there, he’ll get a good reception I think. He is also an open supporter of the Bluebirds outside of Arsenal. He’s been class to them, and they’ve returned the favour. In fact I do love me some Cardiff, not only because of them giving us Rambo, but because of the way they play, their fighting spirit, and the fact that they’ve knocked points off City and United this season. Now its up to us to get 3 out of this game.
Ramsey should score at Cardiff as a means of appreciation to them
@WizardOfOzil….you(‘)r(e) nuts
I wont be able to watvh the game as i have work today. I know it sucks 🙁 . But with all the games i have watched. I believe we will win. ! Fingers crossed 🙂 COYG
He can run the lenght öf the field, he is welsh Jesus
Who cares how he celebrate? I’m just happy if he scores!
Well we came through defence who parked buses but with Cars its Different.
^ Commenter should change name.
Wenger is right, for Rambo going back home to Wales should not be a baa to a decent performance
*gets sheepskin*
That was appalling, ewe should be ashamed of yourself.
bliney, no need to ram it home quite so harshly
i hope the team is intellingent enough to know they is no such thing as an easy game. all it takes is one or two moments of madness and bam your punished. the whole cardiff first 11 shuts up shop and before you know it you ate back in london with zero points…. i sound pessimistic dont i? well lets hope it wont come to that. coyg bitches!
I could careless if he celebrates or not. If he scores I’ll celebrate plenty for both of us
When he does (Rampant Rambo) find the ball in the back of the net, I think it’ll be a muted celebration because he is a classy guy. Not like RvP, Nasri or the other fella who went to City and now is at Sp*rs as a bench warmer for the reserves.
Go kick some cardiff balls Boys and take no prisoners!!!
There is a lot of talk whether Ramsey will be booed etc..
The guy was getting booed by his own fans last year and look how he turned out to be. Getting booed by opposition wouldn’t even matter to him in the slightest..
Ramsey got his leg broken 2 years ago and now is a player of the league so far. He makes one mistake against Dortmund and makes up for it in the return game..
Ramsey is mental strength personified..
