Boss likes Kos

After his super-solid display in Marseille (woot, opening rhyme), Arsene Wenger has been full of praise for Laurent Koscielny.

Speaking to Arsenal Player, Wenger said, “I believe he was certainly Man of the Match in that game. You saw in that game what we want from Laurent – he was commanding and playing with authority. That is something that has come out of the game last night.

“When he had the ball he was calm, he read the game well and got in front of the strikers to save many dangerous situations”.

Koscielny is certainly the most intercepty Arsenal centre-half I can remember for quite some time, and after some unfortunate moments in his first season, which I think we can put down to adaptation and stepping up a few levels having just played one season of top flight football in France, the early Bart Simpson is showing why the manager paid close to £10m for him.

“I would say he was surprised coming from France at the physical intensity of the game here but he has got that now and I think he is very commanding. I always thought he would become a great central defender. He is getting there”.

On current form the Frenchman will present Thomas Vermaelen with a real test to get back in the side when he comes back from having his bionic Achilles bits fitted. But that’s the good kind of problem I wish we had more up.

Up the Kos.

He really seems to step up in European games… Barcelona, anyone?

He was outstanding on Weds – let’s hope he can add a bit of consistency to his performances now. Maybe having Per and SZCZ around him has given him some confidence.

Simon

Not Bart Simpson, Beavis…

Jim Deen

Boss likes ‘im, Jimmy likes ‘im too.

I think he will be saddled with the Szczesny-Kos cock up in the CC final for a good long time, but that’s well and truly unfair.

His positioning is just superb, and I like the way he takes fuck-all no prisoners.

Fed up of Barca

Always liked Kos, even when people turned on him last year. I see real class in the guy. He just needs a good communicator next to him.
It was always Squillaci and to a lesser extent Djourou that were liabilities

Scooter

Djourou is a pimp. He never could have outfought Koscielny. But I didn’t know until this day that it was Squillaci all along

I’m so glad things are getting better and better

[…] Koscielny’s commanding display in France, Arsene has lavished praise on the centre back saying that he expects Kosher to be a brilliant centre back. If he keeps it up, well sure. What […]
