Arsenal have revealed that the club’s supporters have voted Alexis Sanchez as their player of the season by an overwhelming margin.
The Chile international, who is currently preparing for the Copa America on home turf, secured 66.4% of the vote, beating off competition from Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla.
Sanchez, 26, wowed the Emirates crowd during his debut season, scoring 25 goals in 52 appearances as the Gunners secured a second successive FA Cup triumph and a third place finish in the Premier League.
Speaking to press yesterday Alexis admitted that only securing one trophy was bittersweet, but he remained positive about how Arsene Wenger’s stewardship is helping him evolve as a player.

To be honest, I love our amazing team and I love to see us winning again. Player for player we are beginning to compete with truly world-class squads in our best 11 and it feels to go into the summer in this situation.

Arsene can go on about street skills and socio-economics all he wants, but there’s only one reasonable theory – Ljungberg and Overmars had a love-child and dropped him in a vat of Red Bull as a baby.

This guys has lightened up Emirates from day one ,his relentless has rubbed off on many of our players (especially OX),with bedding in done we can only hope for more from him and the team .
Congrats alexis,been pure class all season,always gives 100% every game,if every player had his tenacity and mentality we’d never loose,you could probably put him as a lone cb and we’d still keep a clean sheet

Not to change the direction of the thread, but there has got to be someone working on a new song for Ozil… his might be the worst of the bunch.
I know, the standard of chant in general is bad. When I first started going to Highbury in the early 90’s every player seemed to have a proper song, not just we’ve got… or there’s only one… We had rhyming couplets and everything! Now it’s just monotone dross.
Can only assume Gooners ‘highjacked the vote’.

He is a beast, a fighter, a winner……. i was overwhelmed when we signed him and he has really shown us what he is made of……….. He is Still not satisfied with our season’s outcome….pure class

The whole lot of them were awesome all season, figure someone just had to win. Ozil, Santi, Monreal, Coq, Mertersacker and Bellerin all deserve a huge mention. It was his debut season anyway, worth remembering

To be honest in order to keep Alexis I think we’re going to have to start competing for bigger trophies than the FA Cup. A player of his quality needs to be winning the greatest trophies. This should give us incentive to improve the squad further. He’s an unbelievable player and the thought of losing him is unthinkable.
