Aaron Ramsey has paid due credit to Arsenal’s next Premier League opponents, calling what Leicester City have done to be top of the table ‘remarkable’.
Claudio Ranieri’s side sit 5 points clear of the Gunners, meaning an Arsenal victory is absolutely crucial on Sunday, and the Welshman is hoping the fact we got back to winning ways against Bournemouth will set us up for the big performance we need.
“What they have done this season is quite remarkable,” he said, “but we have got to be right on it to get all three points. It was important to win at Bournemouth.
“Hopefully now we can take away this momentum and come away with a victory against Leicester as well. We are in a good position now and hopefully we can maintain this.”
“It was important to bounce back from the results we have had of late and it was important to do that with the result that Leicester got yesterday. So it was important to stay in touching distance of them and it will be an interesting game on Sunday.
“I know that I, for one, will be playing football with my feet next weekend, because that’s how you play it and ultimately that’s why it’s called football. Handball exists in football but it’s a different sport, LOL!”
Ramsey had a good game against Bournemouth, with an assist for Oxlade-Chamberlain, but Leicester’s high energy midfield on Sunday will provide a much sterner test.
It is remarkable that they haven’t been found out, surely they must have weaknesses, and that they have been so successful with such bargain buys and have had so few injuries.
Let’s hope things start to unravel a bit for them and they finish second behind us.

We were away so were happy to surrender possession and counter. And they were at home so the onus was on them to attack.
This time we’re at home and 5 points behind. They’re gonna sit deep and counter, which is just how they like it.
Worse yet, their game is pressing the central midfield into losing possession, a new weakness of ours since Ramini partnership.
Really hoping Wenger comes with a legitimate game plan to counter them, and that either Coq or El-NEY-NEY…what’s my name starts.
That’s precisely what 7am said their weakness is – having to be the possession side. He’s got numbers for it I imagine. I’d be a lot happier with Coqzorla on form if we decided to try that approach again – with any approach really – but we’ve played some fairly effective countering matches this season and last. There’s no hidden rule that says that we have to play into our opponent’s strength at home.
I don’t like to reference these lot, but it doesn’t stop Chelski from adopting a counter-attacking approach at home!
We have to be smart and not play into their strengths. Could be a very up and down game, both teams sitting deep, using pace on the break.
I expect us to be smart, up for this, and dismantle them as we did at their place.
We played a counter attacking game against Bayern, City and United at home.
I figured the way to deal with Leicester city is to Play at their own game not passing the ball around looking for an opening. A fast game is the only solution like we did at the Kings Stadium. We have 5 goal scorers for them to contend with while they have only 3. So we should have 2 or 3 goals good to the Arsenal
Its been heartening to watch Leicester this season. They play as a lot more than the sum of their parts.

I do find it odd how Ramsey divides opinion among Arsenal fans. I think he’s a good player with some flaws but in general he’s somebody who is a positive in our squad. Ask yourself if you’d prefer a player like him or a conservative no-risk footballer who might look good statistically but in the end contributes very little. He reminds me of a former teammate of mine Stevie Coke (we called him this because he always drank Coca-Cola and he was a cocaine addict) who, on his day, could turn anyone inside out and do amazing things. The Danish were once known as the happiest people on earth (before they became the most unwelcoming). The explanation for this was that they had low expectations, therefore, events tend to exceed expectations and you are happy. I believe Fats here is too wounded by years of disappointment and posts negative stuff like this to manage his own expectations.
In all honestly I will be pleasantly surprised if Arsenal manage 7 or more points from their next 4 league fixtures (Leicester(H), Man U(A), Swans(H), Shit(A)). I also need to manage my expectations.
