First-year scholar Anthony Jeffrey was previously named as one of the three fastest boys of his age in the country and, having put his athletics career to one side, he is now fully concentrated on putting those talents to good use on the football pitch.
Short in stature but capable of causing all manner of problems for opposition defences, left-winger Jeffrey has used his pace to impressive effect at under-18 level, having featured with some regularity last season whilst still a schoolboy.
He began this season in blistering form, finding the net four times in nine appearances, before an injury suffered in early November ruled him out until the New Year, meaning that he missed the Gunners’ short-lived FA Youth Cup campaign.
However, once he returns to full fitness, Jeffrey will aim to pick up where he left off and continue in his pursuit of a professional contract, something that he is already well on the way to achieving.
An accurate crosser, the 17 year old has also weighed in with several assists so far this campaign, and, although there are some aspects of his game which require improvement, such as his controlling of the ball, his perpetual desire to improve should stand him in good stead for the future.
My favorite kind of news. Can’t find these goodies anywhere else on the interwebs.
This guy looks like a Don.
He got a big-ass tie for xmas.
I always temper every hope I have for one of our kids, with one word, Lupoli.
Still let’s hope he cuts the mustard!
How about Quincy? JET? *sigh*
Hope he does not go the way of the formers. I was particularly a fan of JET, still feels he can come back and make Wenger eat his words. Thank God there is a strong buy-back clause in JET’s contract.
I am sorry to burst your bubble mate but JET is not good enough and never has been good enough. He had the potential but that is not enough. He is a Championship player at best. Way too slow, poor passing and lack of mental strenght.
Reminds me of Walcott.
Hell, having 2 Walcott’s on each wing or one in the middle would combine to a devastating front three.
First thing I thought
This guy was my sprinting training partner and his pace is something else. Haven’t seen him play football but he’s a little bit arrogant which could be a good thing.
