After a few days off over Christmas, it’s the first day back at work / school / hell for most people today.
We suggest taking the edge off things by reliving Olivier Giroud’s miraculous scorpion kick effort another 21 times…each with a different commentary from around the globe.
Better to bask now…you know…before he has a stinker against Bournemouth this evening.
We kid. We kid. *Crosses fingers for more brilliance from the HFB*
Grab your headphones, keep one eye on your boss / teacher and enjoy…
One for the Arsenal fans:
*that* Giroud goal with 21 alternative commentaries from around the world. https://t.co/9NLqo9tdCy— Bootifulgame (@bootifulgame) January 3, 2017
If anybody knows who made this video, let us know in the comment section and we’ll credit them accordingly!
Absolute cracker from Giroud… world class or not, as we’ve seen in the last few weeks, the guy can really make a difference. Hopefully he keeps it up, COYG!
Just watching this over and over again on loop!
Chinese one my favourite.
Hahahah.. And the Bulgarian guy is sort of like, “Oh yeah, nice goal.”
What a great compilation.
It’s 詹俊(James Zhan)!
In Malay commentary I would have said, “Gila babi bapak powerrr!”. Directly translated would be, “Superb mad papa pig!”.
ain’t complete without the icelandic guy’s screams
I was really hoping the Icelandic commentary was being saved for last. I’ll have to settle for “Quel but! Quel but! Quel but!” which rhymes nicely with the Spanish (Spain version) of “Girooooo!” Both are direct translations of the American idiom: “Holy shit!”
Maybe splitting hairs but, there are something like 5 versions in Spanish and 2 in Dutch (though it’s not actually Dutch that’s spoken in Belgium, it’s Flemish- a Dutch dialect).
So, there a fewer than 21 language versions. 😉
Last day of holidays, being pendantic in my boredom waiting for today’s match… Doesn’t detract from the quality of a simply superb Giroud strike though! More of that today Arsenal! COYG!
Couldn’t access the Guardian’s website?
Okay buzzkillinton
Thanks this is brilliant! The French one is special, but the Finnish guys yelling and laughing at the same time summed me up when he scored.
Brightened up the whole day.
As a Finn I feel responsible to translate the Finnish commentary (commentator Tuomas Virkkunen):
“Ooohhhh Sexy-Oli scooores … An astonishing goal… Unbelievable beautiful… not the man but the goal!”
The Dutch one sounds like he was so amazed he switched into English with “what a goal!” I’m sure some linguist or Dutch person will tell me that’s Dutch…
…with an American accent! Amazing!
It’s probably because I’m sick. But I literally started to cry because of this video. Tears of joy.
Quel but!!!!!!!!
Chinese translation: Miraculous goal of 2017! The scorpion flicks it’s tail!
Lol, the French dude lost his knickers!
In retrospect I’m super disappointed with the Norwegian broadcasters pick of commentator for this game. (was too excited to notice at the time) The one in this video is the dullest of them all.
Amazing and Magical goal…such goals are only scored once in a player’s playing time. Hope Ollly breaks that that theory tonight against Bournemount.
21 commentators saying “Fuck off Mkhitaryan, this is how you score a scorpion goal”
Where’s the audio from Muggerly TV out of Ireland, Blogs?
please add the Czech language, it is probably the best one! https://www.facebook.com/digisport.tv/videos/1495644327132433/
Looks like this was created by /u/HOPSCROTCH on Reddit: https://redd.it/5ln7ey
that french commentry tho
I think I heard the “Dennis Bearcum” guy somewhere in there =D
Bulgarian commentator was not impressed.
I’m just pleased that fantasticarse appears to be a word in Russian 🙂
I love how quite a few of the commentators go silent for a split-second after the cross, so you can hear the contact between heel and foot. Then the explosion.
Meant contact between ball and heel.
Nothing beats the Mexican GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLL!
Followed by… “gol gol gol gol gol…”
the video is no more available… WARUN
It’s still here… And I totally love the Finnish!
