According to Gary Jacob of The Times, Granit Xhaka will face no further action over an alleged incident of racist abuse at Heathrow airport.
The Arsenal midfielder was questioned by the Met Police in January following an exchange of words with British Airways staff. It was reported that he called one staff member a “f***ing white bitch.”
A statement from the police at the time read: “Police were called at 19:29hrs on Monday, 23 January following an allegation that a member of staff had been racially abused at Heathrow Airport, Terminal Five.
“The allegation was made by a third party. Officers attended and spoke with a man in his 20s. He was not arrested. He voluntarily attended a west London police station where he was interviewed under caution. Enquiries continue.”
Arsenal declined to comment although Arsene Wenger later disclosed that the Switzerland international completely denied the allegations.
Obviously, it’s good news for Xhaka who has had the allegations hanging over him at the same time as a four-game Premier League ban.
It’s just as well he’s been cleared, he’s got to get on a plane tomorrow when Arsenal travel to Munich. Keep your head down Granit. And stay on your feet.

I hope xhaka starts against Bayern. He had some wonderful matches against the German giants while playing for gladbach. On a different note that is sure to get voted down, I think it was bad business to take a punt on konte who was a proven player at the EPL level. Why are you assuming that he must have said those words? Xhaka denied it and he has not been charged with anything.

This is good news for two reasons. First, obviously, this means Xhaka will be available, and without something like this weighing on his mind. More important, to me, it indicates that there probably was no racist abuse. I don’t want John Terry on my team, no matter how well he plays.

Good he got off the hook, But it would be even better if he actually was a Premier league top club quality player which he obviously is not. The other clubs interested in him in the past we’re typical mid table – upper mid table clubs and not any of Europe’s other top clubs.

Bayern Munich and Barcelona were ‘reportedly’ interested in Xhaka. I don’t particularly like either club because of their history of somewhat hurting me personally due to my love of Arsenal but it’s fairer to say that they are little better than mid to upper table sides and would certainly be considered Europes elite by anyone with a modicum of factual interpretive processing skill. The unknown and obvious fiction of such ‘reported’ interest aside.
