**Leads both teams
1.Worst passing performance in a half by Arsenal in 2011-2012 and could even be considered one of Arsenal’s worst passing performances in the Wenger era.
2.Tackles in this context mean defensive tackles ONLY

not an excuse but a fact, we had no defense. Not having proper fullbacks completely disrupts our game, the wingers can’t concentrate on attacking and the midfielders have to pick up their slack, which is obviously frustrating for the likes of benny and ramsey, thus making it extremly hard to hold together any sort of shape or consistantsie throughout the ninety minutes. Also you can tell, song and ramsey are completely wrecked. I love song but recently he’s looked sluggish and tired, I can’t help but feel it would have been good to keep frim around. But at the end… Read more »
I agree on the Song bit. He was fairly anonymous. This would have been a better game for Coq though, more mobility and a little quicker tackling and interception. We didnt need an out and out enforcer against a passing team.
What has the world come to.
To the point where Andy Carroll is worth 10x more than Robin van Persie.
Yay for optimism. Time to read the article…
Oh fuck. I forgot.
please buy me a can of dog food to cry in
Why dog food? Show some Pedigree, Chum. No reason to cry if this team gets it together. Do that and we might Winalot, Pal.
This shows how much we miss Cesc. Aaron Ramsey is nowhere near as good yet to play the central attacking role for a club of Arsenal’s stature.
If Arsene wants to buy players i say do it in this week itself. Then we can trash United and they wont be having any players to look out for after Arsenal have bought the targets we try so hard to scout for.
If we buy this week then the newbies would be on the bench. They need time. Of course though they would play off the bench against Man U
What?
Shedloads – fucked off Arsenal fans at the moment.
They have a reason to be. No? What makes it worse is to see the Spuds above us with half our annual wage bill, and trying to buy players to strengthen. While our manager blaming the ref and think our players were still good enough to compete.
Here one stat for you, RVP won us in his Own 17 points, if RVP got injured, we would have ONLY 19 points now.
Yeah but take away Andy carrol from lfc or Torres from chel$ki and…. Well they’d probably not move anywhere (except possible up..hahah)
Here’s one fact for you. This stat is irrelevant since RvP is not injured.
Here is a fact for you 7 year with no trophy, with high wages for shit players we can’t get rid of.
We don’t have the players anymore to play ‘the beautiful game’. Only Wilshere is capable of playing such passes in the whole squad atm. Its very obvious that he’ll be replacing Ramsey and not Arteta in the middle. And while we were panic buying on deadline day, we should have even bought Elia. At least he works hard for the team!
panic buying ??, at least we got artetta whos proved more than his worth, mert has done well, santos has chipped in goals and looked like he was gaining fitness and understanding of the english game defensively. Not to mention yossi who on the whole I’ve been very impressed with. Park is the only one who’s a bit iffy at the moment….. so 4/5, better than spending 50 million on torres or 30 on carol in my opinion
You’ve been impressed with Per? He’s 6′ 6″ and fucking Sessegnon beats him in the air. Arteta is the only player that can be considered a good buy. Santos can’t defend for tits. Gibbs was never good defensively either. Now we have two fullbacks who can’t do their primary job! And how does Ramsey start over Rosicky in current form I don’t understand. Developing a player for the future is important but if he’s going to cost you points you need to stop!
Sorry mcmadkunter, whilst I appreciate your optimism, I have to disagree on a couple of your points: -Mertesacker has been shite. I like the guy and he seems to genuinely try, but he’s unbelievably slow, his technique is awful, his passing game is terrible, he falls over inexplicably, he can’t tackle, he can barely win a header… week in, week out he fails to impress. If you want to see an Arsenal standard centre back, look at Koscielny/Vermaelen who are both brilliant all-round footballers and twice the player that Mertesacker is. -Benayoun has never been Arsenal quality, but he’s done… Read more »
Cesc come baaaaaack 🙁
For what? to play under a stubborn has been man, who turns us into a developments school for french kids, and who who thinks Squilliaci, Chamakh and Park*top top quaalitty players* and the market can’t over those quaaalitty any more so no signing.
Disagree with you Jim. I think this shows how much we missed Arteta. The guy’s been our passing machine this season and without him or Wilshere, we’re going to struggle.
While Ramsey has an engine that’s second to none, he really needs to work on his distribution and speed of distribution. You can’t fault his effort, but he just doen’t seem as quick at reading situations as Arteta or Wilshere are.
Nightmare.
Hopefully those attributes will come on in time, he’s obviously a very talented player.
well looking on the bright side we’re the first team to score 2 at swansea this season
*runs away and hides*
Arteta was the man we missed. I think one of the primary reasons arsenal did so well before the Fulham and Swansea games was that Arteta brought balance to our midfield. He knows when to cover for song and when to make a run forward. Yesterday the midfield got dispossessed far too often, what the team needed was f

Is your ‘Send’ button anywhere near your ‘f’ button by any chance?
i like the missing letters from his handle. “Calvinist Gooner” is his full name, I bet.
i will stop wasting money to watch arsenal matches until they return to winning way
that’s the spirit! with support like that we’re sure to spank the Glazerhawks on Sunday
I here man city are trying to shift some season tickets
[[comment removed: personal abuse]]
any chance we could get a stat on how many passes Walcott played backwards and sideways? he was awful.
Walcott is infuriating. I would like to see a stat showing how often possession changes hands after it is passed to him. Good move, Walcott gains possession, end of move.
Ramsey OUT, Rosicky in.
Managed to score some UTD tickets late, and was stoked to get them (it’s usually easy to buy tickets this season!).. I’d be lying if I said I’m not a little nervous about the possibility of us getting a spanking.
Let’s hope Theo will have one of his 1 in 10 good games, then that the Ox plays at the Sab Siro!
stoked? wtf.
OMG it’s yoof speak JJ WTF! FFS.. It means pleased, old timer (?) 😉
did you mean the San Siro?
Yep.. iPhone as you might guess
It’s over like Mike!
Which one, you ask?
Tyson, Jordan, Jackson! Pick one.
Jay-Z? Didn’t know he was an arsenal fan
Totay agree on the full backs. We rely on them do much and without them in the team we look way less dangerous.
Sagna is so important to us. Gibbs looks a prospect but is too injury prone.
I wonder what Wenger will do to address these problems?
Rien!
Apparently we have a bunch of players coming back from injury. They are very close, apparently, and as we all know, in Arsenal-speak, “close” means 3-4 months, or just in time for pre-season.
It’s as if Wenger expects players like Gibbs, Sagna, and Wilshere to make an immediate impact after being out for so long. To my mind, those players will be hitting their stride just when it will be too late to make a difference.
Honestly Guys there’s no point fooling ourselves, we won’t make any big/significant signings in January!
I hope I’m wrong, but I doubt it!
I know this Is way behind but you can’t reply on an I phone. But mooro the chum reply mate pure genius again.
Very kind. Ta.
i thought it was a bit of a dog’s dinner, myself
Why do we hear so much about our players being tired? They are professional athletes, surely they should be fit enough to play two or even, in extreme situations three times a week? Never hear fergusmoan or twitchy complaining
apart from ferguson *constantly* moaning about absolutely fucking everything, and twitcher’s regular “down to the bare bones” whinge, that is
http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/wenger-i-don-t-like-the-january-window
Statements in this article clearly mean that ‘some’ player’s mind is not in the game. This thing was evident in the game against swans. And there lies wenger’s problem. He has too much faith in his players. He thinks if he carries his players through injuries they’re gonna pay him back by giving their best years to the club.
Not in the modern day sir, not in this fuking modern day.
He doesn’t like the Jan window and the summer window WTF does he like? To see us humiliated by the fucking spuds? To see a cunt like Le cunt say we have no ambitious leave us for City then when he comes back he keeps hugging him and let him watch our game in a director box? Or Vieira tapping up our players while under contract then come to the club and being treated like a hero? This man got red of all the football people in our club that will stand up to him, he only left Pat to… Read more »
I am not talking about players who are injured. I am talking about those that are excused a poor performance because they are tired. It’s cobblers
I didn’t want to make myself depressed again, couldnt’t even get past the 1st stat.
2- number of players in an arsenal shirt actually hustling. koscielny and miquel. pathetic
Great work Tim…as usual. Agree perfectly with Rosicky, he hold everytin together like a great playmaker whenever he comes on. But dont feel too good about Benayoun. Felt he passed less but read the game well and was intercepting things at will even before the Swans could finish thinking it. Hope its not asking for too much if I want to know how many of the interceptions were by Yossi?
He also had a couple of punts from range in the direction of the Swansea goal. Ok, both massive misses, but this serves two important purposes: 1) If you do that often enough, eventually one’ll go in. 2)If you do have a pop from range whenever the opportunity presents itself, rather than trying to hold the thing up ’til a pass becomes available, it prevents the opposition pressing so high up the pitch, as they cannot afford to allow you those opportunities. They also know that eventually one’ll go in. One thing that I thought was very obvious was that… Read more »
? – number of games Arsenal will win between 15 Feb and 17 March (out of 6)
We play 7 games between those dates if we beat Aston Villa at the Grove in the next round of FA Cup.
But let’s concentrate on beating United the next time out. Our slump in form started with the tight 1-0 loss to Man City–before that, there was a ton of optimism among the fans and players.
What’s in hot dogs?
you don’t wanna know…
ok this is possible but not realistic.
how awesome it would be if cesc comes to us on loan every year to help us win the premiership.just like henry cesc can do it.cesc is our boy and he would love to play here.im pretty sure when we need someone desperatley cesc would join us just like henry did.barcelona can play without cesc for 3 or 4 months.
this way cesc can spend half is career in london and the other hald at barca.
but fuck it neither wenger will do it or thos barca cunts will agree for the deal.
For once, I didnt feel like reading ‘By the Numbers’… and with those figures, I wish I didn’t.
[…] started against Swansea on Sunday but didn’t exactly pull up any trees. The fact that Rosicky made more successful passes in the 25 minutes he played than Benayoun did in over an hour shows how the game passed him […]
